Hi all Z1 user

would like to ask.. izzit normal for the screen to appear slight dim and yellowish?

Planning to get Z1 at M1 Suntec.. but after trying 2 new phone, both phone screen appear yellowish. Then I bring the new phone to compare side by side with the demo set.. both having the same screen setting with auto being set to off. Both the new phone appear dimmer and yellowish as compare to the demo set which is much bright and slight blueish.

I went down to M1 @ IMM and tried.. again same as suntec.

Is this normal for new Z1 or is there any special setting need to set? Please advise..:s11::s11:

i believe u should bring your phone to xperia care @ bishan for verification. If indeed the phone screen is yellow and or dim, request them to rectify the problem for you. Sony service centre standards are Japanese standards, very up there one.
I am confident that they will rectify such problems for your asap, leaving you with a big smile.
If you feel like their service so up there that you want to commend, leave said comments on their Sony Mobile SG FB page and or Sony Singapore FB page.
Good service must commend.
Of course this goes two ways lah, if no good then also must voice out.

Yup, i haven got the phone. Intended to recontract to get Z1. First attempt at suntec M1, but both screen appear yellowish as compare to the demo set. Then i try to get it at IMM M1.. again same issue. Even the CSO is also puzzled n unable to give an explanation.

Lol, shouldn't the newer batches be better since got more experience le? Or sales too good le so need to rush out production of more?

Intending to re-contract end of the month and Z1 one of the phones under my consideration. Hopefully won't get the yellow tint screen if i do pump for the Z1.

How bad is it for the yellow tint issue then they would consider replacing it?

think of pure white background and a milky white background comparison. it will be very obvious. Initially I do not believe my have problem until I did a comparison at their shop.

just compare photo taking with the demo set, is day and night difference

Here is my personal experience with the service centre if anyone interested...

1) Yes, replacement is about 3 working days to a week long. They will replace the phone for you as long as you complain there are yellow tint.

2) Once they replace the set for you, you should check it. If you reject it, you can choose to keep and use the phone first or leave the phone with the service centre...and wait another 3 or more working days...

3a) If you choose to keep the phone first, they might call you again for another replacement. But you will have to queue up as servicing the phone again and had to wait 3 hours for replacement to then queue up for collection again...

3b) If you choose to leave it at the service centre and when the next time you go there, you will queue up as collection without the 3 hours wait time. But this also means you will not have a phone to use, you can rent a phone from them first if you want though...

4) If you still reject it, go back to no. 2 :s13:

At least they replace for you under warranty. I think some countries service center rejects such claims.
