Zeal Aftershock

Hi all, I am looking to purchase a PC and the Zeal Aftershock caught my eye. I fiddled around with some of the parts and in total it will cost $2094. Is this worth the price? Also for my current specs is it worth it for me to go for a 144hz QHD monitor?

Compare with Dreamcore also. The brand they use slightly more premium than aftershock

While the specs seems better on your recommendation, however you did not account for the 3 years onsite warranty from Aftershock. For 150 bucks delta, I would have preferred getting the onsite warranty since it will save me a lot of trouble when it comes to troubleshooting and sending faulty parts for RMA.

Personally, I will not recommend getting a decked out PC from Aftershock since the parts tend to be more expensive. I tend to select the lowest configuration for things like RAM and the hard drive (the 3TB Toshiba drive you mentioned), and buy your own parts to upgrade.

While the specs seems better on your recommendation, however you did not account for the 3 years onsite warranty from Aftershock. For 150 bucks delta, I would have preferred getting the onsite warranty since it will save me a lot of trouble when it comes to troubleshooting and sending faulty parts for RMA.

I agree on that, but if you purchase parts separately and not from Aftershock to upgrade that voids the on site warranty / other warranty if anything goes bad. Because as long parts not purchased from them that breaks and damages other parts the aftershock company have the right to void their warranty due to non warranted equipment in the system.

Hard drive, you can remove before they come to check. Ram, you can always install back what you have originally purchased from Aftershock. As long as the system did not fail because of our tampering, it should be covered under warranty. Unless they install a seal on it to prevent tampering. This TS can check with Aftershock before buying.

Well from the OP's post I could deduce he probably not too well versed in system maintenance, so if he's going with a custom build I'd rather he/she get everything done in one go.

I think user want to get a pre-build pc that come with in-house warranty so that everything can be service under one roof.

DIY usually offer better set-up and a cheaper price point but warranty are covered by diff distributors and if you are someone who do not like to touch the inside of a PC, this route clearly isn't for you.

Nowadays busy with life n work.
Lazy to DIY anymore.

Their service is good though, complained about the fan noise, they came the next day to fix it. Hussle free.

The spec and brands they using also not bad.
Only OEM brands they used in the PC is only their Aftershock cooling fan. The rest are like from Lian li for PC fans, zotac for graphics card, klevv for rams etc Not too bad.

The brands you mentioned are good and are cost cutting without screwing over the clients as well. Zotac gpus are great for for price to performance and not too bad looking unlike palit. Feird colors

PSU is of low quality, is ok since you got onsite warranty but lifespan after warranty is another question

Ram speed is low, it will impact the performance of Ryzen. Get at least 3000mhz CL16, sweet spot is 3200mhz CL16

No stat mb brand and model, don't know about the oc capability
No stat ssd brand and model, don't know random read capability and endurance

As for price, well, is for onsite warranty, the rig overall seems mark up by $200-$350

I am just suggesting an alternative way to save money and get better specs. Rather than assuming, I think TS needs to decide if he /she is comfortable upgrading. I will not assume people going for pre-built computers are not well verse with system maintenance because I like to DIY, but will consider going for pre-built computers just to save myself the hassle of RMA and troubleshooting.
