Folks can consider call divert to an invalid number using this code **21*+651# to avoid expensive roaming charges. To deactivate use this code ##21#.
StarHub call divert
StarHub call divert
Yes, if one does not want to pay for roaming calls. But z1 app can be configured to block incoming overseas calls, so that leaves only Singapore calls.Actually that should be for any incoming call right ? Not just SG ?
Er, true but can be mitigated to some extend :
Using telco that cannot receive incoming call while roaming, or disable notification for phone & messages when roaming.
Plenty of local “Taikong” SIM cards on sale on Carousell. Easy to just buy and spam, just need one victim to earn back many times the cost.I received scam calls based on SG numbers before. no +65/+44/+855 etc
just 8 digit singapore phone numbers starting with number 6/8/9
Same here. 2x from same number some more.I received scam calls based on SG numbers before. no +65/+44/+855 etc
just 8 digit singapore phone numbers starting with number 6/8/9
Pls see my postAny got charged so far? Maybe can share their real life experience, no point speculating on unknown territories..
I see you got a charged call divert.. so it is not a guaranteed solutionPls see my post
As mentioned in post 9620, you will have to do the divert in sg and then never turn on the line overseas. Which kinda defeats the point of having the line in the first place.I see you got a charged call divert.. so it is not a guaranteed solution
Haha. Easiest is to just mute the incoming call and let it timeout. As mentioned in post 9620, you will have to do the divert in sg and then never turn on the line overseas. Which kinda defeats the point of having the line in the first place.
as per their email, i tink they will charge if there is a call coming in.Thank you for the email.
The “Block International Incoming Calls” function in the Zero1 App applies only within Singapore.
When you are roaming overseas (e.g. in Malaysia), international incoming calls will still come through and be chargeable under roaming voice rates, regardless of whether you answer the call.
Please note that roaming is provisioned as a complete service bundle, which includes:
• Roaming Data
• Roaming Voice
• Roaming SMS
These components cannot be enabled or disabled separately — they work together as one package.
While overseas, kindly take note:
• Incoming and outgoing voice calls, as well as outgoing SMS, are chargeable based on roaming rates.
• Incoming SMS are free of charge and will still be delivered to your Zero1 line, as long as you are connected to our supported roaming partner network.
You may refer to our full roaming voice and SMS rates here:

This is not consistent with the practices of other telcos though, which all say no charge if call is not connected. Plus their pricing mechanism says it is charged per 60s block of voice call. If nvr pick up/rejected, how can there be any 'airtime' to charge for?Hi TyL3r_DuRd3n,
Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your concerns. I’d like to clarify how roaming charges apply to incoming calls while your line is connected to a roaming partner’s network.
As mentioned earlier, once your mobile line connects to our roaming partner’s network, all incoming and outgoing calls — including missed or rejected calls — will incur roaming charges. This happens because the roaming partner network activates and attempts to route the call to your device the moment it reaches their network. Even if the call is not answered, the connection attempt itself generates a charge.
To address your specific questions:
We understand this can be concerning, especially in the case of scam or unwanted calls. To minimize costs while roaming, we recommend:
- If it is a scam call and I let it drop:
Yes, a charge will still be incurred. The roaming network has already attempted to deliver the call to your device, which triggers the roaming voice rate, regardless of whether you answer.- If I reject the call:
Yes, a charge will still apply. Rejecting the call does not prevent the roaming network from registering that an attempt was made to reach your device, and this attempt is treated as a billable event.- Outgoing SMS while roaming:
Any outgoing SMS sent while roaming will also be charged according to the prevailing roaming SMS rates.
We hope this clarifies the mechanics of roaming charges for incoming calls. Please feel free to share this explanation with your community or reach out if you need further assistance.
- Disabling Data Roaming and Voice Roaming if you do not need them.
- Using Wi-Fi-based apps (e.g., WhatsApp, Telegram, FaceTime) instead of cellular voice/SMS.
Best regards,
Yours Sincerely,
Doris

yeah, this is one way zero1 is milking us.This is not consistent with the practices of other telcos though, which all say no charge if call is not connected. Also, how to disable voice roaming?
maybe is really Singtel's practices. Zero1 is a Singtel MVNO. So I presume zym, Vivifi and CMLink also charge voice roamingThis is not consistent with the practices of other telcos though, which all say no charge if call is not connected. Plus their pricing mechanism says it is charged per 60s block of voice call. If nvr pick up/rejected, how can there be any 'airtime' to charge for?

I also using iOS…. If their suggestion is to disable voice roaming they should have an option to do it on their backendyeah, this is one way zero1 is milking us.
to disable, you may want to disable VoLTE as a workaround as per Sango65's out-of-box-genius-solution.
Unfortunately, I cannot use the workaround as I am using iOS
VoLTE cannot be disabled.
The purpose is simply using your device & line for functions that works on wifi like WA, UTube, emails, etc. In a way it is still handy but not full fletch and less fun out of it. A good wifi solution is get a spare cheap data only line with roaming data, use it as wifi-hotspot, can even share data with traveling buddies.i think it defeats the purpose indeed
think some users will feel heartpain cos when they sign up for Singtel MVNOs, they have 600GB roaming data which can be used in Msia, Thailand and Indonesia (valid for 1 year). But with this call roaming nonsense, they cant use the roaming data when travelling in these 3 countries. If call roaming charges are a concern and you happen to travel with the line frequently. Port out to or stick to Eight or Simba, whatever disadvantage these telcos face at home are still worthwhile, peace of mind while traveling is utmost important.
