VoLTE, or Voice over Long-Term Evolution, is a technology that enables high-quality voice calls and SMS over 4G LTE data networks, allowing users to simultaneously make calls and use high-speed internet, unlike older networks where calls would drop data. Key benefits include clearer HD audio, faster call setup, and better multitasking (e.g., browsing while calling) because the phone stays on the 4G network. It's built into modern smartphones and carriers' networks, with settings usually found under Mobile Networks in your phone's settings

From google less jargons :) Glad you enjoyed you trip!
Zero1 overseas usage for calls and sms is chargeable and expensive !!!:( so this volte has no use for me

I set call forwarding on my zero1 line to my eight line since for eight , incoming and outgoing calls and SMSes in overseas are part of the plan and no extra charges will incur .

Some say call forwarding will incur z1 costs. I am not sure.

Hello, recently ported into zero1 as my first MVNO from Singtel. I gave them my CC when I signed up, on the app it said monthly bill will auto deduct on 8 Jan, but it's around 8pm 9 Jan now and I haven't received any deduction/request for deduction. Should I be worried or is it possible that deduction can be a bit later?

My deduction just occurred, so they are almost a full day late.

When you signed up, they already deduct the 1st month .. 2nd month should be prorated

dunno why even though it's "no contract" they still need customers to stay with them for at least a month. So it's not true "no contract" after all.

but thankfully some others are? like Starhub, and M1? although the latter has yet to bill me for porting out just two days after porting in..
This is to penalize those fickle minded/serial porter lah !!!! oh oh somebody will be fuming :ROFLMAO:
They can better allocate resource to do other things
Though I also do not like this but it is understandable why this is needed.

the idea is to use it for data roaming. might as well put the sim at home when overseas then?
Then it’s up to you to weigh if data roaming or receiving voice calls more important. Just reject or don’t pick up any voice calls while overseas and don’t use the forwarding function. There was a long discussion on this previously

Like what i mentioned in zym thread disable SIM when roaming to avoid roaming / divert charges .. i don't know why there are so many variable repetitions .. :ROFLMAO:
I have a better suggestion. Just leave the sim card at home and buying a roaming esim. haha

When there are no free roaming data allocation in local telco, I have been doing that. Disabled my local sim calling and route calls to roaming SIM card.
