My zero1 carrier name shows Singtel 4G+. What is 4G+? I also have a M1 line and it only shows 4G.
How is this even related to the telco
Wtf?
Not allowed in Singapore though, so he's still correct. If they want to block tethering, they have to do it via their backend. And because Zero1 don't sell their own devices, even lesser chance they can meddle with their customer devices. It is related as we cannot assume telco will by default allow personal hotspot/tethering. Telco can disable this feature in your phone.
But in order for the number porting to be completed, you have to pay off any bills you owe to your previous telco. If not it will affect your number porting process and also you will be charged for the unsuccessful porting. That is what I read on the zero1 website. I hope someone from zero1 can give us some clarification on this.

By July 2015, Singtel is the first in South East Asia to launch the Tri-band 4G+ network that delivers speeds beyond 300Mbps. Tri-band Carrier Aggregation (also known as the three-carrier LTE-Advanced) is capable of achieving peak download speeds of up to 450Mbps1. This means downloading a 1 GB file
