a quick update, so i went to call to tech dynamic at 2pm just now to check whether warranty still under them
a kind lady answer my question say my 1070 warranty no more, last year already expire. i told her that i bought 2nd hand she say the previous owner never go extend warranty thus expire 2 years later when he bought on 2017

so i kinda cheated.. but also not really get cheated, as i didn't do any homework before purchase. but the kind lady ask me come to tech dynamic to give them my 1070 so they try to send to zotac company see whether how..

and anyway i bought a Zotac GTX 1650 Super, now works and can use and registered 5 years warranty on zotac website and as i previously mention and posted a thread that my" pc died" in fact is just bad GPU

edit : i went to see cpu-z and gpu-z for the 1650 super, the core and memory is under 500mhz is it normal? or is just idle then like that .. and i also see the shader is grey out no numbers there

Yes. Similar experience from TD. But she Later refer me to a Malay guy. Nice to talk to as well. Anyway my case is PSU & graphic card issue.
So is the new card quiet?

Yah. Have fix appointment. They said their SOP is sent to TW but will advise me the cost of repairs. Likely I will just tell them to keep it, more interested to know what was wrong with card.

On another hand, to save the trouble, I might not go at all.

I intend to get the either the EVGA or GALAX 1650 super. But shops in SLS still not open if I going for EVGA. The metal backplate & heat pipes for $20 more I think I am ok with it. Just not entirely sure if temps, fan will be much better for the extra $20

thanks ! i saw it now.

OH! i found it ! i thought it's just a product code number from zotac, didn't know is TD one

Nope, it's not TD one. That S/N is Zotac S/N. DT use that to determine whether is it their goods because when they reach TD, TD already have scan in this S/N into their own data base.

I've contacted Tech Dynamic before and must say that their service is quite good. At least I don't feel like they don't want to help.

Is it normal for Zotac cards to have their fans spinning at idle? Doesn't that mean their heatsinks are quite lousy? i.e. cannot passively cool the GPU even when idle

In the past majority of GPUs had spinning fans even when idle. Silent computing weren't that big a deal for majority of people just like how RGB in the past is almost non-existent as well.

A few years ago I bought custom cooler (Arctic Xtreme) and it had a huge ass heatsink, spins during idle as well :s22: You get the idea.

I would like that and further more distro is nearer to me. But but ...... price is same as evga but their backplate is plastic. Not saying metal will be better for temps, which I doubt so but still, plastic!
Plus more ex than MSI as well.

yea. I need to wait till then to get the evga cards. If not I can just order online for MSI,GALAX or GIGABYTE.

But for gigabyte, not sure how to justify the higher price, other then, distro is nearer to me

depends on the fan profile used

both my previous Zotac GTX 1070s have the fans not spinning when GPU is idling under the default profile. I changed to min 25% fan speed since there is no noise whatsoever at that speed.

You should read up on what are the changes with Phase 1. ** ended does not mean its party time. In my opinion, post ** phase 1 is not much different from the early ** (before it got tighten sometime in mid/ late April).

oh! if repair ok amount then go for it .. if anything over 100 then save up buy new card le haha, if care about aesthetic, 20 bucks more is ok even for me.. i prefer to have a backplate on GPU also .. but when budget i go for whichever cheapest.

but if you ok can pay maybe like 100 more instead of 200+ for 1650 super, 1660 super also good, i see gameplay can be slightly on par with a gtx 1070 at much cheaper price at 1080p

ya.. i initially thought that is TD see de.. but then now after many 大佬 say then now i know.. next time know what to do.. i usually buy stuff online and just ignore warranty even buy local

I've contacted Tech Dynamic before and must say that their service is quite good. At least I don't feel like they don't want to help.

ya sia.. at least they still encourage you to come to them for appointment they help you do process, regardless in warranty or no warranty they still try to send them back.. first time encounter such a good local warranty company

ya. it's normal as my previous gtx 1070 idle at 0%.. heatsink are okok, if i recall correctly.. it's just a feature appear in gtx 1070 or above de GPU, 0% fan at idle sitting around the 30+ degree which is normal compare to my 1650 super 35% fan spin idle also 30+ degree

i heard the gigabyte windforce oc 1650s was the best value for money.

i think phase 1 still no open, but servicing shops got open though .. my house downstair got a repair pc shop open half day the rest need call him up for repair.. his shop 1 week maybe open 2-3 times half day

Around $250 range is my budget. >$100 I feel not necessary. Base on what I read, 1650 super is just nice for me. The lower power requirement is a plus too. :s12:

Bro, yours in sep 2018 still within 2 years so will have warranty. But need to tell TD the serial number for them to confirm If the card is valid under them.
BTW, when new card arrive remember to register online for the extended warranty.

Please tell me who is TD, My Zotac 2070 is faulty. Thank you.
