Hi, like to seek some advice.

I am looking at traveling to Vancouver in June 2026. SQ has a flight from SIN- YVR via SFO, however the layover is only 2hrs.

Will it be enough to clear immigration, collect luggage, and recheck in?

TIA

If you can force the booking on the same PNR I don’t think is an issue, but if you can’t, don’t bet on it.

First of all, SQ does not have a flight from SIN-YVR. SQ has a flight from SIN to SFO, connecting on Air Canada to YVR.

The recommended international to international connection time is 2 to 3 hours. You can do a Google search and read on the other forums, Reddit, etc. Some has said that it takes usually an hour. Factors like preclearance, etc also makes a difference on how quick/fast the security checks will take.

Also look at the SFO airport website. Note which arrival terminal (SQ) and which departure terminal (AC).

last part. So beautiful. But it’s a lot of mental preparation to drive this long this far.

I feel like it'd be worth it, though: these are amazing photos. (And you covered a lot of ground, too! Post your map!)

I don't think it'll be enough - you'll have to change terminals as well, so that'll be a really tight connection. Either do a couple days' layover in SFO, or fly via somewhere else (maybe via HKG or NRT?)

Wanted to ask few question to all the experienced expert here.

1) If my travel period is 5 months from now to East of US, should I apply my ESTA now?
2) For domestic flight, should I buy from 3rd party platform like (expedia, trip) or book direct from airline?

This is my 1st time going to the US. Thank you in advance.

Mine got approved within 12h.
2 year window starts on the approval date

so. I would say apply say 2weeks before Shld be fine, unless u have reasons that they are more interested with.

also, be mindful, there are many spoof sites to this. Be aware on the url u are at

1. I'd say apply for it right now. It's vanishingly unlikely, but if there were to be some sort of hitch in the application process, that gives you more time to fix it.

2. Book direct from the airline. Use Google Flights to find the cheapest flight, but always book direct with the airline.
