Wechat still needs id verification leh.
My alipay also cannot top up although visa is linked.

Cannot top up by own Credit card? right. but can receive from other Alipay account and use like Local without problem

Cannot top up by sg credit card. Can receive-from/send-to other alipay acct. But the main issue is still sg credit card ar.

If I am not wrong, after link your SG Credit Card, can use Wechatpay by deducting money from Card when purchase in retail store or take DiDI Taxi.

yes，correct.

i managed to add youtrip card to both wechat pay and alipay.
didi can add youtrip too.

used alipay to pay for dinner and it work
used wechatpay to topup my china unicom sim and it work

No need to have china simcard.

And it seems that they no longer provide those tourist sim. Both china telecom and unicom require 1 year contract.

rmb 3000 is the per transaction limit for alipay and wechat pay, try to pay 4100rmb and was declined and saw the error message.

Works well for most places. There was a few place that can't get through.

One restaurant which it did not work, told me they don't accept payment via credit card linked wallet (not sure why).

apply alipay from alipay hk. it allow oversea user.

If using Youtrip to pay via WeChat, and each transaction is less than 200RMB, any transaction fees? How’s the exchange rates?

You applied the International version twice? I believe the account is tied to your passport. My WeChat pay can add card, but can’t add funds to it. Heard others saying it works like cc transactions, Just scan and pay.

Why dun you try Alipay instead?

My original account is in china wechat (on iphone) but tied to my china friend whom I lost contact. Cannot do transfer or anything.

Strange. I also have a China wechat account tied to my China local phone number.

Did you use a different email address to register for the international version?
I Uploaded my passport details and got the approval very quickly. Can’t top up money, unlike the China one. This version haven’t tested it out yet in China.

Hi flying off next week ....how do I know I have successfully link my visa, don't want to arrive and can't use it ...

Its under services right ....I can see I've link a my card under wallet-cards, but it seems merchants need to scan my QR instead for me to pay, what if it's the other way round ?
