If linked alipay to credit card, we cannot make private transfer to china people right? Sometimes I want to tip them for helping me to do things
I tried private chatpay to a China fren by scanning her qrcode.
She successfully received my money sent.
When I see her In Jan, will test the reverse, ie she wechat pay me money to see if my wallet will get money.
If can, then will give her cash to help me top up my wechat wallet.

Sg issued Cc.
Cannot top up wallet, since a China bank account is needed
So you can pay an individual into her wallet using sg cc linked to sg alipay?

What's stopping you from paying someone in sg and then ask him to transfer into your wallet?

I can't pay into any wallet using sg cc

I assume she received into her wallet which is linked to her bank account.

I now need to find a sg fren that has wechat set up n test it out.

ah i know where is the bottleneck

Wechat wallet requires you to verify with a Chinese bank account or bank card to set it up. Unless that is done, you can't receive cash into your wallet.

Just came back from China, after tying the CC to the youtrip card to Alipay and wechat 1. The first payment will take a while, need to confirm with Youtrip app before you can confirm payment in Alipay. And yes, you do not need to top up the wallet, it will auto deduct from the CC. 2. Better settle your login with Youtrip make sure no need to confirm with SMS for code when login. 3. When you want to use Alipay for Metro, u need to setup the transport. 4. I went Hangzhou and Shanghai, need to switch the Alipay transport location. 5. there is a 3% for Alipay above 200RMB. 6. I tried to pay to a person, it doesn't work for Alipay or Wechat, I have to use cash, but that was only 1 case.

Let's see how the improvement will be soon.

BEIJING, March 1 (Xinhua) -- China has reiterated its commitment to facilitating mobile payment for foreigners, a move that indicates its resolve to enhance high-level openness.

Zhang Qingsong, deputy governor of the People's Bank of China, said the central bank will guide payment platforms such as Alipay and Tenpay to raise the single transaction limit for overseas travelers using mobile payments from 1,000 U.S. dollars to 5,000 dollars, and the annual cumulative transaction cap will be raised from 10,000 dollars to 50,000 dollars.

Efforts will also be made to simplify identity verification and provide easier access for foreign visitors to manage various processes, such as card binding, according to Zhang.

need to allow direct inflow of CNY into the wallet to be comparable

Alipay allows it now but needs someone to top up into your account

There has to be profit incentive for them to do so, if it is not a requirement in law.

Is it typical for the "Transport (出行)" feature in Alipay to be unavailable while in Singapore? I am preparing to travel to China and have activated the metro cards for Chongqing, Chengdu, and Kunming. However, I am unable to utilize them through the main "Transport" function. I am hopeful that upon arrival in China and detection of one of those locations, I will be able to use the metro QR codes to board the trains. Thank you.

The People's Bank of China, the country's central bank, released on Thursday a payment guide which provides foreigners with text and graphic instructions on using bank cards, cash, mobile payment and e-CNY in China.

No ID is required for transactions under a certain amount when foreigners use mobile payments such as Alipay, Weixin Pay and UnionPay. Some international e-wallets such as TrueMoney, which originated in Thailand, and Naver Pay, which is frequently used in South Korea, are directly accepted by merchants in China. Foreigners can also open bank accounts with passports or other valid ID at major banks such as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.

According to Wang Pengbo, a senior analyst at market consultancy Botong Analysys, the requirement on ID for mobile payments in China used to be the major barrier making foreigners reluctant to connect mobile payment tools such as Alipay with their overseas bank cards.

Another major hurdle, which was the payment limit, was addressed at the beginning of this month when the PBOC announced that the single mobile payment transaction limit for foreigners in China was being increased from $1,000 to $5,000 and the annual limit was being increased from $10,000 to $50,000, said Wang.
