Why you guys want to have hood? My mum who cook every day think hood is a nuisance. Too much cleaning

I didn't dare to hack walls to conceal wires.. Because almost all of my walls are the structural walls bold in the floor plan
Wanted to use conduit instead of Casing also but electrician say cannot especially if got lots of wires going in the same direction (eg 7). For conduit, best is can use false ceiling, so like travelling from db to kitchen, can use false ceiling to hide, then conduit go down to the socket etc. That's was his advice if I wanted to do conduit

decided on having a hood because i didn't want the smoke or whatever stuff to splatter onto my cabinets. at first i was thinking don't want a hood, place a glass or stainless steel panel below the bottom of the top cabinet. Got a cheap hood in the end because the steel or glass panel would cost about the same as the hood. most likely won't turn on also lol.

We hv never ever had a hood

Think so long as no cabinet above the stove or hob area, should be fine even tho mom cooks daily

conduit is this type, the black piping on the walls/ceiling (normally people go for black conduit, although have white/grey conduit)

casing is those old type white box

conduit is like those tube. casing is those small rectangular plastic you see externally.

if don't want casing and you want to conceal, i think need to hack a "drain" from DB to kitchen, it gets easier when the wires all split to their rooms, but the bulk will be at the DB box there

of course i might be wrong, since i chose casing and didn't experience this

All wiring originated from the DB and they are wired in loop. So for your case, you are just replacing cable trunk with hacking. Below is just an example, it will be alot more wire in real.

if you select conduit, most likely its exposed one like the pic i show.. concealed type i'm not sure what kind they will use

I am keen in conservation house. Could you share with me your research and the area I should watch out for? So far my research is only on Landed, Principal Garden area and HDB flat.

i think this is how they will do. have not seen for myself in real how hacking is done. but i believe they will follow the trunking path but conceal wires in the wall instead
