kinda stupid leh.. of course ppl will have different impressions and interpretation of different things because each individual is different. the memory that they have will largely depend on the first impression of the subject in question.

it's like saying McDonalds vs McDonald's which is correct? u would probably get divided views because rarely do ppl pay attention to small details. sometimes ppl spell with the apostrophe, sometimes they don't. but when they see McDonalds or McDonald's they instantly recognise the brand as mcd.

if mcd suddenly wants to change the impression of McDonald's to MacDonald's now, would kids born this year have the impression that mcd = MacDonald's or McDonald's as it was spelt before? would kids of let's say 5 years old then have the impression that mcd = McDonald's or MacDonald's. Obviously both generation of kids would have split views on which is the correct spelling because their first impression of it was different.

also businesses change branding from time to time and its not uncommon for their names to change slightly based on what majority of the ppl are perceiving as the correct version.

I'm just wondering, did you watch those videos? How do we explain, for example, "Life IS a box of chocolate" but somehow it's like it wasn't existed and has instead this line "Life WAS a box of chocolate"? :s22:

LAst time when I young, I remember c3po got dismantled. When they or was it R2D2 try to fix him back, the only spare part for his leg was a silver leg from the junkyard. That's why some shots has him in silver leg. But later in the end he got his leg changed back to gold..

I am not even a star wars fan ,but I can remember why his leg was silver.

This is rather silly.

The human memory is one of the most unreliable things out there, and typically we do not remember every exact detail of what we experience. The brain remembers parts of what was seen, and tries to rationalise and put together some sort of story for the memory.

This means that some things end up being remembered according to what seems common or reasonable, such as JC Penney or Berenstein, simply because it's convenient for the brain and there's no real need for most people to specifically remember that small detail.

And because it's remembered in the most 'common' way, it's not surprising that lots of people end up having the same wrong memory. But that doesn't mean there's some weird reality-altering effect going on. It's just how we remember things.

i never watched that movie before but the replay i listen to clearly said "life is like a box of chocolates" to me... and yes i heard that phrase before...

maybe different ppl have different interpretations like i said... some say "is" some say "was"... or maybe the quality not good :s22:

EDIT: upon repeating the track several more times, i do hear it as "was" so it is kinda ambiguous to what was actually said...

if u used correct grammar, the correct tense would be "is", but if u scrutinise it, it sounded like "was" which would be broken tense.

this is how brain trickery works, while watching the movie ur brain most likely autopiloted and interpret the sentence as "life is like a box of chocolates" even though it sounded like "was".. and now u look back at this replay, u realise it sounded like "was" thus mindfugged...

that's my explanation for this phenomenon..

The saying itself is a general one and we usually say "is", and Tom Hanks's mum also says "is" in the movie.

However, for the bench scene, it's quite clear that he says "was".

I'm just curious, did you watch this movie back then when it was shown?

I remembered it as "is" back then too, but later on when YouTube came up, found that it's actually "was".

Same for C3PO, I never remembered him as having a silver leg, but now it's clear that my memory was wrong.

Well, may be not. How come you so quickly disapprove of your own memory?

How come Interview With A Vampire became Interview With THE Vampire???? How come!!!!????

I remember it as Interview with The Vampire clearly because I was wondering back then why is it so weird, why don't say it as Interview with a Vampire.
That was back when the movie was just released.

Not sure about the other stuff mentioned.
I watched Forrest Gump only a few years back so can't say much about it's original content.
