Firstly, I apologized for keeping you up the whole night if you are a sinkie.

I am not trying to prove anything by sharing this observation that I happened to chance on. Just sharing it for awareness.

There is no right or wrong as every one memory can be different in this peculiar case.

It started with the Berenstain Bears, in which I recalled was "stein" last year.

Recently, on Youtube, some of the people found that there are more discrepancies arising from what they recalled.

I agreed that some of one's memory may not be reliable for a certain issue or event in the past.

To me, the most staring changes were with the movie scripts:
"Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all ?"
"Luke, I am your father."
"Life is like a box of chocolate, you dunno what you will get."

The interesting thing about the discrepancies is that some people will recall the above at its original state and some people will recall the above at its altered state.

For some of the logo, there is a possibility of them being changed due to business reason. But, some of the guys checked and found that the logo is the altered state since day one.

The shape behind the Volvo is always a circle in my memory.
I can already see that one of the EDMWer recalled it as a male symbol. Both of us are right in accordance to our recollection.

So, maybe the scientist found the programming code of changing our projected reality that we are living in or we are now living in a different timeline from our original time origin.

For the second possibility, we are experiencing the changes due to some one or some team who went back in time to change some thing. (Ref: The movie "Back to the Future")

Once again, I am just sharing my thoughts.

There is no right or wrong. Just a thought.

Exactly my thoughts. If you watch the video I posted earlier "My wife is not my original wife", it's saying something along this line too. I can only say, something strange is really going on at the moment.

I can swear that my dad owned a beatle in the 70s when I was a kid and the VW then did not have a line between the v and the w!

The saying itself is a general one and we usually say "is", and Tom Hanks's mum also says "is" in the movie.

However, for the bench scene, it's quite clear that he says "was".

Aiyo, on the last scene on the bench forest was recounting his life so reference in the past tense... In earlier part of movie, it is 'is' as it was referring to his present on ongoing life.

Yep, that's why.

Well, may be not. How come you so quickly disapprove of your own memory?

Because it really isn't reliable.

All that the so-called Mandela effect shows is that people grossly overestimate the accuracy of their memories, and are ignorant of how the brain stores them.

We remember the main points, patch up the rest, and modify those memories along the way according to our thoughts, biases, subconscious, etc. It would be extremely inefficient for our brain to specifically remember every small detail, such as the grammar of a line from a movie.

Those Mandela effect videos where people say they "know" it was definitely like this or like that, no they don't. Human memories (in general) aren't like photographs or hard disk records. We just don't work like that.
