is this true

Samsung launched the fabulous Note 7 couple of weeks ago and the smartphone world is still reeling under its aftereffects. But it comes to knowledge that the Korean smartphone maker may be preparing another version of the handset that has advanced specs than the regular note 7. mind you that the normal Note 7 isn’t slow by any means.

It uses top specs such as 4gb of fast RAM, 64GB of internal default storage, an Edge display, and iris scanning. But Samsung is hell bent on pushing the limit of what a smartphone can offer.

From the TENAA certification page, we see a version of Note 7 that not only has 128 GB of internal default storage but also a whopping 6 GB of memory. Readers have to Note that the phone also comes with an expandable storage slot. Disappointingly, this version of the phone is only meant for the Chinese market.

And of course, Samsung would be charging more money for the upgraded specs. The regular note 7 is already an expensive phone at $850 as opposed to the $750 launch price of Note 5. This Note 7 pro version will cost an extra $60. That’s a nominal price for added memory and double the amount of storage.

Seems like Mod(s) Vulpix, Siandiao, Hisashiburi, Runforyourlife all posted here :D

Am currently on the Galaxy S6, still a great phone by any regard (just needs a format which I will probably do one of these days to clear out stuffs)

Will still take a seat back and weigh my options. Will be looking at reviews of the Note 7 from early adopters of the phone and also the availability of the supposed "Pro" version in Singapoe

they should make this 6gb/128gb variant the standard for note 7... like that then can distinguish from s7 edge ma...

very disappointed.. will this news hurt note7 sales? :(

Koh Dong-jin, the head of Samsung Electronics’ mobile business, introduces the Galaxy Note 7 at a launch event in Seoul. Koh also addressed growing speculation that a more upgraded version of the Galaxy Note 7 will be unveiled only in China. There have been news reports that Samsung will launch the new phone with 128GB built-in memory and 6GB RAM in China. This upset local consumers because the Galaxy Note 7 is launched with 64GB built-in memory and 4GB RAM in the global market including South Korea.

“It is true that we are reviewing the rollout of a new tablet with 128 gigabyte built-in memory in China because Chinese companies are aggressively doing marketing with high-capacity memory,” Koh said.

We will accept diverse opinions from various regions and also consider whether that move will disappoint Korean consumers,” he added.

The Galaxy Note 7, which will go on sale in Korea through three mobile carriers on Aug. 19, will come in three colors -- blue coral, gold platinum and silver titanium. A model in black onyx color will be released in early October. Prices start from 988,900 won ($896).

one of the good thing i like about apple is they treat the customers equally around the globe, no exclusive variants or exclusive colours, everyone get the same. First they say only for china then guess what, Samsung is released in the whole world and ppl who bought the 4 GB ram variant are just f***ed

Juggle between two phones. :s13:
So both haven exactly touched its storage capacities *yet* - 32gb on the S6 and 64gb on the 6S.

UFS 2.0 internal memory standard is pretty quick - something I do like, but am concerned if micro sd cards (specifically older ones <class 10) - would cause any bottle necks due to lower transfer rates - anyone coming from the S7 / Note 5 would like to weigh in?

Have a great friday & a nice weekend ahead!

SD cards will slow down the phone for sure since it's running @ half duplex.

UFS works like an SSD would.

You really don't need anything larger than 32gb especially when you hv choice of expandable external storage. Let's say system firmware, OS and apps used 10 to 12gb of space, you still left with 20gb of user apps and media for use. Say u hv decent amount of apps with 3gb storage, y ou still have space for 10+ games even if they are 1gb each. Although you will face slowdown when space reaches above 80% but they need to be pushing pretty hard.

Yes ufs is faster than the fastest class 10 microsd but do note you only need to load in the data from the storage to ram once (theoretically for read) so the impact is quite minimal. Unless you are doing a lot of writes like copying large amount of data files to the external constantly, it is not something you need to worry about.

So do save yourself some money becos 128gb is not really future prove but for people that wants to throw everything into the internal storage becos they are lazy. What they forgot is if the storage fails, their life goes with it too.
It is better to separate data files and make multiple copies here and there in case one fail, you still hv the other. Storing media and personal files on external storage also allows it to be portable among other devices

But customers and markets are never homogenous. So what Samsung is planning to do is correct. Unfortunately for marketers, you can never please everyone. I've pre-ordered the 4gb ram and no, I will not feel f***ed should the 6gb be made available in SG later. Happy with 64gb as I prefer to use an SD card that I can remove and slot into my laptop/PC should I need to! Will be perfect if the battery is also removeable :)
