If you have accidentally downloaded and installed the new update that limits your battery to 60%, this official way will help restore your phone's firmware to the previous update without using Odin or root and risk triggering Knox.

OFFICIAL SINGAPORE (XSP) FIRMWARE DOWNGRADE METHOD

What you need: Samsung Smart Switch. Download here.

1a) Unzip the Zip folder and install Samsung Smart Switch in your computer.
1b) Run Smart Switch on your Computer
2a) Use your phone icon on your Note7 and dial, *#06#
2b) Write down the SN (Serial Number) for later.
2c) Connect your phone to your PC via USB.
3) Install the necessary drivers via Smart Switch if your phone is not detected on your PC
4a) Press 'Backup' on Smart Switch to backup all your data as you will lose all your data once you Downgrade your Firmware.
(Remember to click Allow on your phone to let the transfer start)
4b) Once backup is done, disconnect your phone from the PC.
5a) In Smart Switch, click on 'MORE'.
5b) Click on 'Emergency Software Recovery and Initialization'.
5c) Click on 'Device Initialization'
5d) For Model Name, enter 'SM-N930FD'
5e) Click Search
5f) Enter the SN of your phone that you have written down
5g) Click OK
5h) It will warn you about losing data. Click OK

5i) It will show you the Firmware version that you will be loading. Note that XSP is the Official Singapore version. :) Now click Ok

6a) Turn off your phone
6b) Press and hold the 'Power + Home + Vol. Down' buttons at the same time until you get to the Download Mode menu
6c) Press the 'Volume Up' button to continue
6d) Connect your phone to your PC via USB again.
7) On Smart Switch, press OK
Smart Switch will now download the older firmware and update your phone

You mean it didn't download fully onto your PC? The firmware will download onto your PC first and then transferred over to the phone when the phone restarts, it will start installing on the phone without needing to be connected to the PC.
I have no problems typing out the guide while the firmware was downloading onto the phone along with it transferring the firmware onto the phone and while the phone was updating.
Could be your laptop hard drive problem or something else totally.

If the firmware is actually being jammed at the part shown in the picture, then your phone is totally fine. Just restart your phone as long as it did not fully download the old firmware.

8a) After the update, your Note 7 will prompt you to enter all your necessary information just like when you get your new phone
8b) After the 'Protect your Phone' screen, you'll get to the 'Which Device' screen that asks you to restore your backup from the cloud. I suggest you click on 'Don't restore'
8c) On the Samsung Cloud screen, if you entered your information, it will prompt you to restore from either an old device or Samsung Cloud. Click on 'No, thank you'
9) VERY IMPORTANT: Once on the home screen, Turn on 'Flight Mode'
10) Now disconnect and reconnect the USB from your phone to your PC
11a) On Smart Switch, if your Note7 is displayed, click on 'Restore'
11b) Click on 'Restore Now' to restore your Backup Data back to your Note7
(Remember to click Allow on your phone to let the transfer start)

12) VERY IMPORTANT: Once your phone is restored, go to Settings -> Software Update -> UNCHECK 'Download updates automatically'. Also, NEVER EVER press 'Download updates manually' or you will see the annoying notification asking you to update from time to time.
13a) Disable 'Flight Mode'
13b) Restart your phone
13c) When connected to Wi-Fi for the first time, the phone will search for an update. Quickly restart again. From there, even if Wi-Fi is on, there will be no more sneaky background updates and notifications. :s13:

Note: On step 9, I asked to turn on Flight Mode instead of just doing Step 12 as when restoring data, it will restore your settings which may re-check 'Download updates automatically'

Say hello to 100% again! Samsung Pay works too. :)

Thank you. It worked!

I was using the Mac version, think it has some error. Was panicking cuz my phone was stuck at the downloading screen and I couldn't restart it. But in the end managed to restart and I found a windows laptop to update and it worked. (pc must have at least 10gb of space though :/)
Thanks for your help!

Be warned - Turning off Wi-Fi oso of no use. After few days of ignoring SS notification to upgrade fw, it finally auto updated via mobile data!! (While I took a leak & left it by bedside for just 5 mins!!). Luckily my replacement's coming on Sat...

Wow. Luckily I didn't get it.

POST-FIRMWARE DOWNGRADE

14a) I am using 'Package Disabler Pro (Samsung)' that you can find on Google Play. (Do remember to give the app Admin access when requested)
14b) Then on the app, click the top right hand side and choose 'Manual Disabler'
14c) Then type in, 'com.wssyncmldm' and then click 'Disable'
You no longer have to fear the Software Update. Just use Wi-fi as per normal and you will still have no issue like me until now.
(Note the app costs $1.48)

15) Also, for Smart Switch, click on 'More' -> click on 'Preferences' -> click on 'Software Update' and untick everything in it.

Until now, still no update. I always put a backup plan in case Plan A fails.
I thought it wasn't really that important since we will be changing phones very soon. Nonetheless, my apologies for not including the post-firmware downgrade guide. The 'Package Disabler Pro (Samsung)'costs $1.48.
