I'm going to Apple store for replacement tomorrow.
For replacing just the display, are they gonna wipe off my SDD?

No they don't wipe, but if you request for it, they can do it too.

When replacing the LCD, they will replace the bottom casing too. At least for me.

Anyway the technician will remind you to do your backup.

Yeah that's what i was told.
Screen replacement for my MBP is free. Otherwise it would have cost SGD600

All the times I did at Alab they left my bottom casing untouched. If they replaced the bottom casing do they laser etch your serial number as well?

nope. the case without serial number.

My rMBP early 2015 model with AppleCare had the screen coating issue so I've went to ALab and got it fixed within 2 days. Now it feels new and refreshed with screen protector installed after the fix

FYI, they replaced the whole screen including the aluminium casing so good luck to those that has fancy stickers pasted on them haha

wow they replace the bottom casing as well? As in the Apple Store itself? Lucky you. for my case i went to QCD and they replace the display panel only. I ask for the rubber feet replacement which they said have to change the whole bottom case & its gonna cost and $400 plus.

recently i went into apple store to service my slightly bloated battery. They also recommended to change my lcd screen due to "StainGate". Both for free as i got Apple Care.

when i received my mbp back 1 week later, it look totally brand new as the whole casing was changed for me.

You shouldn't need to pay for "staingate" even if you don't have Apple care
