Yufuin more touristy than Beppu. Avoid Kita Kisuki

Where you going from Osaka? Washington at shin Osaka? If you don’t mind the 10mins walk from the station, nothing much there to see except accessible via Shinkansen to other cities?

I am going sg - osaka - fukuoka n other areas - osaka - sg
As mentioned, i have my reason to go from osaka. Unless there r super cheap air ticket to fukuoka.

Take train to Fukuoka
Fukuoka, include day trip to Nagasaki (4 nights)
Take train to Yufuin
Yufuin (1 night)
Take train to Osaka Airport

Can I buy advance train ticket from Fukuoka to Yufuin / from Yufuin to Osaka Airport?
Because I am thinking, after check-out from Yufuin, direct go to Osaka Airport, no need to overnight stay.

Osaka is quite out of the way from kyushu. Y not just fly direct to fukuoka? Tickets probably going to be cheaper if not same for Sq direct.u only have 7days,just focus on kyushu instead of spending 2 days traveling from osaka and back

It is 2.5hrs from osaka to hakata and cost 15000yen. So in term of cost it is almost the same as train. But if are not spending any time in osaka, flying domestic straight from kix to fukuoka would save u some time coz u dun need to get from kix to osaka city

A lot of airlines are having promotions now. NATAS Fair is coming soon so you can check it out too.

You can also fly into Hiroshima via SilkAir. Direct flight and definitely closer to Fukuoka, than KIX.

In tt case, i would suggest getting domestic flight from kix to fukuoka on the same day u arrive, so u wun need to travel into osaka. Then take train for the return trip and spend some time in osaka.

Yah, yufuin to osaka via train, then stay the last night at osaka.
Can do last time shopping at osaka.

I usually will not stay too far from the airport on the last night. In case of train delays or breakdown, still have alternate means to get to airport. Yufuin to kix is at least 5 hr via train, with a few transfers. If u miss any transfer, or if any train kanna delayed, u could have problem catching ur flight

No self drive.
Train takes about maximum 2hrs.

Yufuin at night also nothing to do, go there stay a night for the expensive ryokan not worth it, and difficult to find accommodation now.
