Good luck for the interview. When is it?
Hi! Don't worry too much about the interview. It's more casual than I expected. How was the interview? What was the questions? Can share coz mines this sat n i m vvvv nervous
Congratulations!!!!OMG GUYS (,:
Finally, after a painstaking wait of 1 month+ including the period I was being wait-listed for Social Work, I opened the SUSS application status portal and... I saw my offer for Social Work!!! For those who have already gone through the admission process aka interview, and are still on the waiting list, PLEASE DON'T LOSE HOPE!!!
Hi! Don't worry too much about the interview. It's more casual than I expected.
1. Essay - As long as you know your resources, and am manage to summarise the key points/ideas, you are good to go. I went the extra mile to source out other articles and stuff, but in the end, the essay only asked you to refer to the ones that you were given.
2. Cognitive test - this is nothing to worry about. It's easy and simple, and you just have to do as much as you can within the given time. Nobody completes this test. It requires basic maths and English.
3. Group interview - Giving an opposing view will make you stand out (with good support, ofc). Don't hog, let everyone talk, but at the same, don't be afraid to voice out. This is where additional information is useful (e.g. I manage to insert the knowledge I got from all the extensive research I did).
4. Individual interview - the questions are basic, but my biggest tip is to know the curriculum well. Don't ask things that you can already find on the website (e.g. CCA, holiday breaks). The question "why social work" is inevitable. They will also ask you about your extra curriculum activities, volunteer work etc because at this point GPA is no longer the factor. They want to see if you actually KNOW what you're getting yourself into. Basically, this is the time where you need to market yourself.
I hope this helps! All the best!
Nope i received a letter of offer ! What course did you apply for ?Congrats! Were you from the KIV list?
Yes without being granted an interview unfortunately...Without being granted an interview?
Hey guys, just got an email from SUSS today saying that they've put me on the KIV (reserve) list for Social WorkWhat's the likelihood that they'll give me an offer? And does anyone know how competitive Social Work is this year? Really hoping to score a place there, otherwise I gotta prepare for the appeals already.
Received an email informing me that im being placed in the reserved list on 13/03 but received my offer letter on 27/03. so dont lose hope!!

KIV and waiting list is the same thing. With regards to how long it takes for KIV to have a confirmed outcome, I think it differs among individuals. I feel that they actually rank yall according to who did well in the interview. So the moment when anybody (who got offered a place already) decides to reject the offer, those in KIV can get a place in that course. But I don't really know how it works too, cause it seems a little messy in the sense that there are interview still ongoing (for those who appeal). So not sure how they going to accept the students.Anyone got offered from KIV list? And how long did it take since KIV.
Is KIV same as waiting list?
Dude, I feel like I'm losing hope.
For the Individual Interview, make sure to know how SUSS works, like the unique learning system (I was asked about The Three H's). Be prepared for questions like what kind of social work you would want to work in and how your previous experiences, be it CCA or volunteer works, would help.
Just like what the user above said, the process of the entire thing was quite casual and GPA doesn't matter anymore.
Don't worry too much, you all will do well! All the best!

Is the wait list the same as KIV?
Thanks! Is dressing like a lawyer(white long sleeves and black skirt) abit too much? Or isit ok?
I'm sure it will be okay. I actually wore black pants, and a dark blue, long sleeve button blouse. But I also saw some participants who dressed more formally. Some came in like the usual, office-appropriate dresses![]()
Yeah, basically KIV list = reserved list = waiting list. This means that at that point, you are neither rejected nor accepted yet. I went for my interview on around 14 March, got my notification of being in KIV list by end of March and found out just yesterday that I got my offer! Really depends on how well you fared in the selection process. How they go down the list, I'm not very sure but the word 'reserved' should already give you some clues. Hope you get in soon!
