Pixel 2 XL is a great phone from Google. The main difference is the S-pen however, Pixel 2 XL performs better when it comes to games. Snapdragon CPU are better for gaming.
That's why if you don't use S pen.. there's lots of other Android phone you can consider. But if you die die must have S-pen, then there's only one choice..

Really think this camera from pixel is Abit overrated. Unless u put side by side and nitpick. Every high end smartphone the output already top notch

miss the big note series and also their galaxy camera..

imagine samsung galaxy camera 3 or kzoom 2 shoot at 4k video and also has better sensor and still 20mps and with their awesome zoom range

note pro and note 10.1 need updating too..
to me the tab s3 dont technically count.. as tab use to be know to be "low end" tablet

What u miss abt pixel?

Pixel really do feel snappier compared to the note 8 even when I off the animation. And I love their unlimited storage for Google photos. And after updating my note 8 with Oreo, I do find the same problem entercounted on the note 8, the wifi, it keeps cutting off after my phone is on stand by for long even when they show strong signal. but I do love the note 8 design better though. I just somehow feel Oreo is the problem now. Mehhh.

anyone updated to oreo then cannot use wireless@sgx?
my colleague's "sim" authentication no longer works and cannot connect to wireless@sgx.

before update still can.
home network no issue.
she says a couple of public hotpots also cannot, but those network at home, relative's all can.

i tried helping her clear the cache partition, "forget" and add back wireless@sgx network, all cannot connect

Cause of Doze, Google's power saving mechanism. You can 'rectify' this by going into Settings->Device maintenance->Battery->Battery Usage->Menu button (Triple dots on the top)->Optimize Battery Usage and set the Google Photo app NOT optimize. This way Android Doze will not control the application. Be wary of this as the apps you disable here can and might run all freely on its own.

Samsung's App power Monitor might also be a cause as Samsung's implementation on top of Doze ensure unused apps never wake up. In the battery settings you can set under unmonitored apps at the bottom to let them go unrestricted.

Note that all of these means apps can run freely at the cost of battery for them to be able to refresh on their own without restriction

I had that problem too, but solved with factory reset. But not sure if "reset network settings" can solve that problem because I went straight for factory reset.

You should try reset network settings first before a factory reset.

Im facing the same problem too on my note 8 on the oreo update. Theres a "!" On my wifi icon and when i go to the wifi network page it keeps saying "internet may not be available". Thats clearly rubbish as my iphone and all the other phones and tablets i have can connect perfectly to the network with rock solid signal. I called samsung and they said its still under warranty bring it down to the store??????!!!!! Like as if i have so much time in my hand. My friend got an update on his S8 few months back and was facing the same issue they changed motherboard for him and it was a 2 months old phone only which after a while his issues came back. Its clearly oreo to blame and samsung isnt pushing out a fix even. I really like this phone. What's your fix to this so far?

Have you tried restarting your router? Have you also tried resetting Network setting on your Note 8? Have you tried a Factory reset to ensure it is not a HW issue?

What is your Wi-Fi authentication protocol?

Wi-Fi icon with ! Refers to successfully connected but not issued with an ip in dhcp server.

You can forget the profile first, then connect again.

Hmm no such issues for mine and my friend set, we did not even reset anything after the update it just works as before.

What does the battery graph usage says? Which is the app that consumed the most battery?

I dont have an SD card. Im using both slots for 2 sim cards. i tried reinserting those also but still got the same issue...

Thanks, good to know that they will provide a service phone as this is my only phone now. :)

brought my phone to samsung service center plaza singapura last night for the auto restart/shutdown issue. got a text this morning that it's already fixed. will be picking it up tonight. hopefully, they didn't just do a factory reset as i already did that. :s11::(

It might be the battery problem, last time my LG G3 also keep auto restart/Shutdown. I bring it to their service center, they check on the spot and confirmed it's battery faulty.. replaced and problem solved. Furthermore my G3 is able to take out battery phone so even faster... Hehe...

network reset didn't work.

4 of us in my office have N8.

was asking ard in the office and realised that 2 of my colleagues both have same issue.
whereas me and another colleague both working.

all of us updated to Oreo

another other solutions short of factory reset?

What's your settings under adaptive Wi-Fi?

This is just an update to this post and whoever reading this and facing the same issue i hope this helps.

I called samsung service center and the guy on the line confirmed that after the oreo update there were 3 bugs in them and they were intermittent Wi-Fi, intermittent bluetooth and Iris scanner automatically starting up on lock screen. they are working on pushing the updates out batch by batch for they had sent out a beta version of Oreo instead of the actual one by mistake. all fixes to this has already been made in Oreo 8.1 and we received 8.0 and that too beta version of it.

the steps i took before calling the call center on my own were,
1. forget the wifi network and reconnect,
2. wipe system cache,
3. reset all network setting,
4. factory reset.

even after that the wifi and iris scanner issue still persists for me. so for those who wanna factory reset do not bother as it wont work and an update is being pushed out for fixes in the bug batch by batch to all s8, s8 plus and note 8 devices that are affected.

the guy on the line said if after even receiving all updates and updating them your issue still persist that means the beta update screw the phone up and you'd have to bring it down to either westgate or plaza sing service center to get your motherboard changed.
The samsung call center guy was pretty helpful. god bless him. im just waiting for my update now as i havent got it but based on when i purchased my note 8 which was november 2017 he said it should be coming soon.

hope this helped anyone facing the same issue. cheers. :)
