I have now had my Tempur for over 9 months and wanted to post a review for other members' benefit. When I was reading through this forum before buying, I found a lot of opinions were based on what people have read on internet. Not many actual user reviews. So here is mine based on over 2000 hours of use. I have a Tempur contour mattress and memory foam pillows.

  • Comfort: This is the best mattress I have ever experienced, including ones in 5* hotels that I have stayed in. Always miss my bed when I am out on business travel.
  • Relaxing: I used to experience stiff neck and back at times when I woke up in morning, especially after playing sports previous day. I find that I don't get that anymore. I also avoid pains caused for side sleepers when you sleep on your arm by mistake.
  • Warm: As your body sinks into the mattress, the part that sinks in is enveloped by the mattress. So it gives a feeling like you have put on a blanket and if its a very warm day (>32), it adds to the feeling of warmth and even feels sweaty. On a normal night (25-30) there is no difference. If you switch on the aircon and its cold (18-22) then you get a nice snug feeling. I use aircon around 40% of time.
  • Smell: When the mattress was packed initially, there was an obvious degassing smell which stayed for around a week. But its normal after that.
  • Durability: Its still quite new and I haven't seen any issue with the mattress not maintaining shape or any other wear and tear.
  • Activities on bed: Yes takes slightly more effort to get up if you are lying down, as your hands dont get much support . But on other hand couples planning for families will love the comfort it offers for both partners.
  • Cost: Its clearly expensive and I had to almost double my budget to get it, but I consider it money well spent now
  • WAF: My wife loves it and enjoys lazing down on bed, browsing on iPad after coming back from work.

Hope this helps other members make their decision.

I agree. I love my Tempur too and it can get hot if you're afraid of heat kind. Basically i get very good night's sleep with it.

But now that our kids may sleep with us, we are afraid of VOC so switched to Natural Latex.

Dormiente pricing about 4 k for king size.

Or can check for certifications but some companies will tell you tjey wanna save cost from these to pass savings to consumers...

I find quite a number of feedback on mattress sink in, collapse after a few yrs of using including getha latex mattress only months it sink in and black stains appearing after a few of months of usage. These are feedback on their Malaysia fb from their customers. Not sure if it's mold or some other issue. As I intended to get latex mattress and am considering getha mattress, but after reading all those feedback I am having second thoughts. Mattress in the past seems to be more durable and less expensive. My DR backcare brand cost ard $600+ then still in relatively good condition. No side sagging, only mild depression on the spot I slept on every night which is not even noticeable. These days, not sure even the 2k+ mattress gng to last above 5-6yrs.

Have anyone used getha mattress or other pure latex mattress? Can share model and experience?

Not sure about getha but mylatex got 10 years warranty... will this be a consideration to address your concern?

100% agree with this statement. When buying hardware, even certification is not a 100% guarantee of authethnic product, especially when a term as loosely defined as organic.

Think using price to gauge, is quite unreliable.

My Getha bolsters has this parfum don't know on the cover or rubber. Don't know why they do it or wanna mask what. In anyway, fragrance is a no no. My Serta Latex pillows also has a light fragrance on it.

Mylatex's website claim that their tara range has totally no synthetic rubber and they are priced quite okay. http://myaerofoam.com/en/product/tara/

Of course, don't know how much their words are worth. It could also be due to they are the first tier of production with own rubber plantation to offer amazing prices. Maybe need to go lowyat to check out.

Don't know why, everyone likes to use such small or no photos to show their certs.

Ya, imo if the products are really good and certified, they will proudly show the certs for public scrutiny. Will proudly say it has no synthetic mix.

If they hide here and there, I find it really disturbing. The reason why I don't mention the other smaller brands as much is because I believe their products are oem from the big players. So even less traceability to know much about the product.

Getha has 10 yrs warranty as well, but based on the feedback, warranty seems to give one no assurance. These days even things on warranty, they will find ways to say it is not manufacturing fault to avoid warranty. I noticed quite a number of black patches/spots complaints on the getha mattress. I wonder if it is a common issue with natural latex, but then again, I thought latex is naturally mould resistant? I notice now all their exterior cover of the mattress cannot see through. What you cannot see, you cannot complaint.

Y u dun buy sealy?? Juz curious as u cfm can afford mah, plus like gd for backs
most of the big brands use a combination of polytherane foam and other synthetic fabric and charge you even higher than latex. It's really not worth the $$$ and there's no guarantee of comfort or ergonomics in the more expensive products.

As explained before, latex is a green material that releases much lesser VOC aka volatile organic compound, which can be irritant, mutagen, carcinogen ,allergen, etc.

The only issue is to find a genuinely good latex product with a very low percent of synthetic stabilizers at a reasonable price. But overall, they are still better than polytherane or memory foam which are normally made fully from petroleum.

It is better to pay for a good and green product than to pay with money and pain to treat associated health hazards. Latex is a premium material for cushion and this material is abundant in SEA, at least 70 pct come from this region so it's really a much smarter idea to pick a latex mattress here.

There are also other benefits to latex, they trap the least heat and can last much longer than other cushion material. :o

For foam mattresses like latex and memory foam, best to place on slated beds for ventilation. Maybe that explans the black stains.

I didnt do it for my Tempur and it is ok so far but sleeps slightly harder.

I went to try out Dormiente and can really feel the diff so we we had to hunt high and low for our slated beds with slats that arent too far apart too.

If the latex layer is too thick, will it feel too soft for a mattress? How think is optimal?

When I sat on the mattress, it feels soft but when lie down, it feels not too bad

First time buying mattress with latex, not sure how soft or hard it should feel

Has anyone uses latex topper here? Can share brand and experience?
I actually bought a latex topper for my relative's latex bed.

Bought him the formula mylatex bed, he says it is too stiff.
Bought him the My latex topper over it.
