Thanks for the info. Then this is the same as some links floating on the web. Basically it is said that Toggle has implemented some encryption features on the HD version but SD version links are still available. Toggle puts limitations on these links to mostly local content only. So often CH5 will not work when broadcasting western content. CHU will not work when showing Korean dramas, etc.

Edit to add: just tried and indeed the free version is at least partially working now. CH8 and CNA are working now. CHU is not working now. CH5 is also not working now.

They just wanted to earn more money by forcing the TV manufacturers like SONY, SAMSUNG, Panasonic to use Toggle Red and pay them for the use.. just install the external DVB-T2 box is the best solution

Any idea what impact this will have on buying mi box s from Lazada?

Sent from Nextbit ROBIN using GAGT

There are 2 types of Android boxes, one comes with legitimate apps such as Google Play etc; the other comes with plenty of commercial apps.

For the first type, buyers will have to find the additional apps all by themselves; the latter, buyers can just watch all the movies, copyright or not, directly from the boxes..

MiBox S belongs to the first type..Presently, there is already copyright laws for the users; as for the sellers, a laws is just in place.

There should be no impact.

The court case applies to those so-called preloaded box like Unblock Tech Ubox.

Mi Box S does not come with any illegal apps.

Quoting from the news article.
These devices do not contain any decoders, but have apps that allow users to stream copyrighted programmes such as English Premier League matches.

For those who are interested in TVB.

Still only VOD and no live TV. But it mentions big screen support. That is the big change.
https://plus.tvbanywhere.com/

Supported device includes Mi Box S and Sony Android TV and Nvidia Shield TV.
https://plus.tvbanywhere.com/certified-smart-tv-list.pdf

Not so sure the app TVB Anywhere+ is available in the Android TV OS curated Google Play Store, if not you may want to try to sideload the app.

Chromecast and AirPlay are not supported. But Miracast screen is officially supported on the Android version.

I was also able to install it on my generic Android TV Box running mobile version of Android.

Edit to add:
TV version apk released on official web site
https://plus.tvbanywhere.com/

Just download "sideload launcher" from google play. This launcher will display all the apks, android or non-android. in a page, you can also place the sideload launcher apps in the front page.

Better not to discuss anything like this in this forum. You may get banned.
not gonna discuss about the morph tv app. (I've never used it before anyways).

but I will activate my trakt account on whatever app that supports it..

Lately baijing TV and manhua TV cannot use. For some reason, suddenly all cannot work. Maybe all block by geographic location

They have the typical business models: gain enough users through free apps which seem too good to be true, and then go to the paid app route.

Personally I do not use such free VOD apps from less well-known vendors. For the VOD vendors from mainland China, you may want to check out the TOP three which will sure work. Their free versions are not too bad when you use the free Transocks VPN, up to 720p with ads.

For Youku, once you pay for VIP, then no need VPN, that is what I am using now.

More info about Youku, Tencent Video, iQiYi here.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...one-chinese-entertainment-apps-5929935-3.html

No 4 is Mango TV which is okay as well.

Payment is easy if you have iOS device since they support in-app purchase. But if you have only Android device then it is a bit problematic as you need to use WeChat Pay or Alipay.

Mango TV also need vpn right? Can transock support full HD?

Mango also needs VPN.

Transocks can support 1080p speed. But all these VOD apps will only support up to 720p if you do not pay for VIP.

Once you pay for Phone/Tablet VIP, they will
support 1080p. I have Youku VIP and I can have 1080p HDR on my phone.

Once you pay for TV VIP, they will support 1080p and some limited 4K contents as well. You may need to pay for Transocks or SpeedIn VIP in this case.
