Experience should be the same as 1gbps, since it's 2x1gbps connection

Supposed to have faster & more stable wifi since there is a separate 1 gbps allocated for that.

This one seems to be better than SingTel 2Gbps plan — two separate 1Gbps ONT ports and one ONT port dedicated to StarHub Fibre TV.

SingTel 2Gbps plan is also bundled with WiFi Mesh but it comes with ONR which prevents you from using your own router.

SingTel 1Gbps+1Gbps plan allow you to connect your own router but it is more towards gaming.

Still most users will not need 2Gbps plan, in fact 500Mbps is enough for most users. Then buy your own Mesh solution if you need that (eg, not able to lay Ethernet cable around the house).

your infra need to support 2gbps =x

Most LAN ports are 1gbps, unless you got a lot of users in your house, there is really no point to get more than 1gbe.

Makes more sense IMO. What's the use of combining into one pipe of 2 Gbps unless one downloads tons of porn daily? :s13: Two pipelines of 1 Gbps each FTW.

Nah mate 1+1 Gbps can't be aggregated for faster download while you can use a pro grade router to QoS the 2Gbps bandwidth.

Guess all those 1+1 broadband is to target noobs who don't know how to set up a enterprise router while dumb enough to not know 500Mbps is enough speed.

Noob question. Will there be online 1 WIFI connection or 2?

If your router got with 2 Wan port and can to load balancing/bonding. U will be able to use as 1 lan n 1 wifi in the same network.

But most home router only has 1 Wan port so u will most likely having 2 lan n 2 wifi that can’t link up.

the difference is that someone here mentioned that starhub allowed him to use the x-gpon network for 2gbps.. this would mean almost no network congestion locally (other than international traffic) during peak hours as his service would not be contended with other gpon subscribers to an already congested OLT

Can I know how you setup for your pc to get 2gbps? Thanks.

Not that hard actually. You just need a capable router/switch that can bond two lan together, and your computer need to have two lan port. You can get an external one, combine with your onboard lan. You can get both links bonded.

My NAS is bonded at 4gbps, and my desktop is bonded at 2gbps. I'm using a cisco rv345 as my router, load balance my wan ports between SH and MR. Also using cisco SG250 as my POE switch, for my WiFi APs.

Look up on LAG (link aggregation group). You will get how it works.

Another way is to use multi gigabit capable switches

Set up is no problem.
The question is do you really benefit from using 2Gbps plan? Most consumer need 2Gbps plan?

I read that Sg is second fastest internet speed in 2019 and our average speed is still below 1Gbps.
Can you really get 2Gbps download speed in the real world?

If no real benefit then why use 2Gbps plan?

ya lor no point getting 2gbps just for local speed. international spd is what we are looking for
