Sony SG is a different business division from Sony Asia. That's why even the X1 came in 6 months after the rest of the world. I bought mine off Lazada months before Sony SG started surveying for interest.

So, don't keep your hopes too high.

This time I betting on.... MyRepublic to be first to package with their mobile plans.... =:p

Oppo new Find X2 Pro is using Sony's IMX689 image sensor and initial reviews shows that it is very good. Can be better than any other phones out there with their planned updates.

Which image sensor is the Xperia 1 II using?

The xperia softwares like eye-tracking, true burst shots, CineAlta, etc are what I am excited about.

Eye tracking and CineAlta were already in the original Xperia 1

The improved eye AF includes both humans and animals, the CineAlta had improved UI which remains to be seen if it is better than predecessor.

I remember xda saying it's Sony IMX555, which is the same one that the S20/S20+ is using for the Snapdragon variants? :s13:

Sony always had great hardwares. It’s how the software can bring out the best of it.

the naming is ermmmm...... terrible

Saw the video presentation, it is intended to be called "Xperia 1 Mark II". But then should label it properly with the word "Mark II" printed on the phone.

Sony accessories do have some of the most difficult-to-remember names.

But the phones are considerably fine.

How many people break a sweat to say - Xperia 1 mark II?
Typically I would just call it Xperia one two. :D
