I came from Huawei P30 Pro... you know, the battery beast they say. I switched to Oppo Find X2 Pro because P40 Pro doesn't have GSM and my work requires lots of Google apps. So, here's my short summary:
1. Form factor - equivalent to Huawei, if not better (e.g. refresh rate)
2. Battery - it can easily last 2 days for moderate users. but if your SOT is more than 5 hrs a day then maybe you'll need to charge every night.
3. Charging - hands down this phone's charging (65W) is godly.
4. Color OS - as this is my first Oppo phone, I actually find it nice, similar to Huawei
5. Camera - equivalent, or better than P30 Pro. but it doesn't have 'Moon' mode so you can't zoom in to see the surface of the moon. Other than that, it's snappy, sharp and colours are nice.

It also has all the friendly features like double tap to wake, AOD, it's IP68, supports Aptx audio codec, seriously massive storage space and more than enough RAM. almost every spec is high-end (Bluetooth 5.1, UFS 3.0, Wifi 6, etc.).

so far I only have an issue with OCBC app where sometimes when it loads, it's a black screen. idk why...

interesting you came from p30 pro and you said the battery life is almost the same?.. i'm using p30 pro too, and other p30 pro users said moving to find x2 pro the batt life is far inferior.

on p30 pro i can have 6-7 SOT sometimes and still have 20-30% battery life remaining (this is a 1 year old phone also)..

This is the reason why i went Mi 10 Pro instead..

Your sharing is timely. I have the oneplus 8 pro and I am looking to get the Find X2 Pro as an additional phone. Would both phones be too similar? I like that oxygen os can use icon packs on the playstore. Color OS has themes similar to Huawei right? Or can color os install icon packs on playstore too?

Just to weigh in on the OnePlus 8 pro vs Oppo Find X2 pro comparison.

Fyi, I got my Find X2 pro through telco; can't see myself paying $1699 for it. I'm actually in the other thread as well, to see if I want to switch to OnePlus 😅

So, I'm not a camera person, hence, I look out for the other tangible aspects.

1. 65w vs 30w charging. Granted that Find X2 pro doesn't have wireless charging, but the fast charging is insanely... well, fast. It'll be over even before you know it. If wireless charging is not crucial, then the 65w wins hands down.

2. Ceramic/vegan leather vs frosted matte glass back. This will be down to personal preference. I tend to use phone without a case, so the feel of holding and using it is important. The matte glass back some say it's slippery, some not. The vegan leather definitely is good for caseless use.

3. Color vs Oxygen OS. I had used OnePlus phones previously; there is nothing to dislike about Oxygen OS. Color OS has really come a long way, much better than I last used an Oppo phone. In fact, I appreciate that it has AOD, gestures when display is off, and even to swipe left to delete a message (similar to IOS). I install 3rd party launcher, so the stock is not relevant to my usage. Battery is good, and notification comes in promptly as well. Thank God there are lesser restrictions now in Color OS; able to activate developer options and accessibility modes to further enhance user experience.

So, all in all, it depends on one's personal preference, I guess. Cos hardware wise they are really similar.

Looks like I'm holding onto Find X2 pro then 😂

The above is from stock launcher, so I believe the icon pack option is quite limited (others please correct me if I'm wrong). The theme store has wallpapers, fonts and themes, but I don't see icon packs there. So, likely the icons will follow whichever theme you decide to go with. Btw, Oppo seems to have lesser content in their theme store compared to Huawei (personal perspective).

The other reason I'm not very sure about icons in stock launcher, is because I usually use smart launcher. It's highly customizable and suits my needs, and of course can install icon packs of choice from play store. So, if you use 3rd party launcher, can work around the icon pack issue.

And yes, and reading up and doing comparisons, both phones are basically 'cut from the same cloth'. Like some bros mentioned earlier, if you want better camera or bigger storage, can consider the Find X2 pro. But really, the hardware is really sama sama, down to the camera notch display.

In fact, I had just ordered the OnePlus 7 pro (Lazada got promo mah) instead of 8 pro as additional phone, cos firstly it's $550 cheaper to have joy of using Oxygen OS, and secondly I felt both Find X2 pro and 8 pro are just too similar. Heh, at least the 7 pro is full screen 🤭

I guess I was a tad too casual when I say it can last 2 days... but that's true for me as I'm probably one of those below-average users who clocks in only around 4h SOT per day?

so that's why I wrote that if your SOT is 5h or more a day... it'll probably require a charge at the end of the day.

Did some camera comparison with my favourite night time camera (iphone 11) and favourite day time camera (pixel 4). lol. As expected, Find X2 Pro main cam still can't quite win against those phone in terms of image processing and consistency.

jgd5pox.jpg

For day time i think it did well enough and has less green-ish tint compared to iphone 11 most of the time. Though as mentioned, sometimes the colour balance and exposure isn't as consistent and can go a bit haywire, especially when HDR kicks in. Pixel 4 is rock solid in terms of white balance and colours, which is why for daytime, it's still my favourite.

the narrower depth of field is both good and bad. More natural looking background blur, but also makes it harder when you're trying to keep more of the subject in focus. Like that photo below with the android figurine.

at night, Apple's approach with night mode looks more natural and presents more true to life lighting and doesn't over brighten things. Pixel 4 is consistent and good in terms of dynamic range and lighting, but saturation looks unnaturally high (though some may like it?). In the case of the Find X2 Pro, normal shots are still okay... but with night mode it tends to brighten up the shot and lift shadows too much for my taste. there is a green cast too, but i think it's something they can fix with software since the green cast is actually consistent lol. Still good overall though.

Wide angle camera has the same quirk with colour as the main camera, though compared to iphone 11, the Find X2 Pro has better details and sharpness, especially at the edges. It's clearly a much better sensor than what apple is using. In lowlight, no contest at all. Find X2 Pro wins hands down.

For tele lens, easy win for Find X2 Pro. I did notice a quirk where if you use the tele lens to try and capture a close up object, it keeps trying to switch back to main camera (which has less bokeh). Not sure why though. I can even use night mode with tele lens and OIS does a remarkably good job here.

Front camera is probably its weakest link i feel. It seems to rely a lot of detecting faces to do exposure and processing, so if you're wearing a mask.... then gg. haha. Also, their image processing for skin tones doesn't seem as robust as apple or google. In lowlight the smoothening becomes even more jarring, and it's almost a must to use night mode to get slightly better shots.

But overall, it's still good enough for the most part for the main camera, and macro mode with that ultra wide angle sensor actually works surprisingly well. Video quality is good too (though apple's is still better). While it still cant quite beat google and apple at the computational photography game, the extra hardware they packed into the phone (ultra wide, periscope telephoto) makes it way more flexible and fun to shoot with. No weird auto focus issue too. So overall, is not bad. :D

If u are talking about local set s20+ with the crap exynos processor, this wins it by miles. 6hrs sot for this phone vs 4.5hrs on local s20+

Actually Samsung has done every other makers a very big favour...

You see every makers (Oneplus, Xiaomi, Poco) all like to use their new launches to bash Samsung S20+/S20 Ultra in their comparison charts... every competitors just want to make themselves feel good :s13::s13::s13:

Hi, need help.

Anyone knows how to stop the vibration when using fingerprint to unlock apps that are locked by AppLock?

I tried to turn off all the vibration options in the setting menu but still can't turn this off.

Thanks everyone. 🙏

Truth be told i really have no clue if the battery life will be good. Because the capacity is not high. Will be good if someone can tell me full hd at 120hz, SOT is how long.

I'm still trying to experiment, haven't gotten to full HD and 120Hz, now testing QHD at 120Hz and it seems decent still. YMMV depending on the apps you use and games you play of course. Home most of the time so wifi most of the time. For MLBB I use wifi when playing magic chess which is what i do more these days, and then some death battle games on mobile data. Also graphic settings is on high quality, high frame rate, and HD mode. though MLBB not really that power hungry IMO. Will update when i try FHD 120Hz for next charge

my starhub contract is up thinking should i get this Find X2 pro, Galaxy note 10+ , S20 Ultra or OnePlus 8 Pro ?
Samsung Any other issues / review ?
Been using Find X2 Pro for abt 1 mth.

Battery life isn't good enough for confident full day use, coming from Huawei Mate 9, Mate 20x, and family member still using 1 yr old P30 Pro.

I don't like the curved side screen, although it is hard to find high-end phones that don't have curved sides.

Cameras OK so far, not really using a lot during **. I never had the video-calling bug that others here had.

Charging with the stock charger is very fast, wonder if will wear out the batt in long term. If travelling, it is still not great to need to carry the charger, because it is quite bulky.

If not for my urgent need to replace my phone at that time, I might have wanted to go with Mi 10 non-pro for what I guess would be better battery life. I think it still isn't easily available in SG?

Got mine at 1360 from a Carouseller who contracted with Singtel.
