I think I read somewhere earlier that the phone came with 'on-board' screen protector... is it true?

I've not been using a SP since I usually get it applied on the spot by one of the shops but now all the shops are closed...

thanks. can't really see it but i'm actually quite fine with it. not sure if a tempered glass is really that necessary...

also read that those uv glue coated kind of stuff is more gimmicky than functional. so never try before :p

Film protector only protects phone from scratches. Tempered glass protects phone from scratches and screen crack (as tempered glass will be the one absorbing the impact)

Nice phone from Oppo this time round. Stepping up to fill the void that has been left by Huawei losing Google support. :s13: ColorOS 7.1 is an improvement over previous versions too, though I think still has room for improvements of course. Like their Realme series' software actually kinda looks a bit more "stock android" looking, and I'm still not a fan of how they organise their settings page (still a bit iOS-like). But the hardware is outstanding, and overall a really enjoyable phone to use, especially that display.

Thanks Bro Alex! OMG, its a bug!

haha. i think they just didn't think about that. Like I just use pattern unlock for app lock, no vibration. But somehow for fingerprint will still vibrate no matter what. but at least the vibrator motor on it is not rough or very loud :s13:

Do you all use QHD+ or FHD+ huh? dunno if the battery saving would be significant...

But a bit silly right.. buy a phone that is capable for QHD+ but use a lower resolution... :s22:

Any shops that got sell tempered glass for OnePlus 8 Pro can just whack liao cause they are identical hahah. It's quite easy if you try WSD yourself before but if you did not try before then it's better to leave it to the shops :)

I use auto select. I don't think there is a big difference for resolution. I tested 120Hz with auto select, QHD+, and FHD+, and got around the same battery life at around 5.5 hours of SOT over a day of use (give or take a bit since usage everyday will vary slightly).

The bigger difference is probably going to come from going to 60Hz from 120Hz, but to me no point spending this much on the phone just to use at 60Hz, so didn't bother testing it at 60Hz. lol

Between QHD and FHD I normally don't notice a big difference in day to day use cause rarely will stare at the phone so closely. But the refresh rate is definitely noticeably not as smooth.
