Read a lot of good reviews about Aftershock PC
and being a SG brand, I wanted to support.

Online sales chat staff were good. Even answered chats on Sunday evening.

Online website PC configurator did state some items that are on pre order so I didn't choose those options.

Before ordering, asked the online sales chat people and they said estimated delivery is 2 to 3 weeks. Feels long but its ** period anyway.

Placed order, and paid fully via internet banking.
Everything so far very responsive via emails and sales chat on website.

Then I get an email saying that my delivery may take 5 to 6 weeks.
Usually they can deliver earlier but if any further ** measures happen, they may need longer.

Uh-oh. On web sales chat, told me 2 to 3 weeks.
Well its not a bait and switch, but perhaps just an expectation management email. They did say maybe only.

So I replied and said noted but hope can get in 2 or 3 weeks as told by sales chat staff.

Then I get another email to tell me my motherboard I chose is not available and they don't know when it is in stock.

WAH.

So they are selling items online with no stock and never mention to buyer until you buy and pay money.

They could have seen my initial web order (payment not processed yet) and tell me stocks not available.

But NO.

Did not mention on website about no stocks,
Did not mention on email to request for bank payments that there is no stock.

Only after paying, then say no stock and dunno when it will come.

Offered me a cheaper board with refund, or a more expensive board to top up.
I don't even want the other more expensive board as it doesn't have the features I want.

Emailed back my displeasure.
No response.
Call phone, Line is busy and they will cut you off after a few minutes.
Website chat now seem so cold when I request what is happening.

Just want to share experience so that other buyers know that not all things are in stock.

Basically buy PC online the risk is like that
no stock is the excuse after you paid.
normal delivery is 3 weeks.
during warranty parts spoilt, wait for 1 month, if after 1 month still no stock wait again.
good luck asking for refund

Hmm, does it mean no chance of getting the PC. Maybe due to **, they cannot operate so no one answer the phone or email.

Just want to update.

After writing in, I do get a polite customer reply saying that they will make special arrangement to honor the date told to me by website sales team.

So I suppose there is some damage control done after making noise.

So lets see if my PC is done on time.

Fingers crossed

Credit where credit is due, I am happy to hear this reply and see that it is politely written without excuses.

Why must pay in full? When pay in full this is the problem. Some of them reserve the parts for those who did not pay full yet.

Maybe you should have gone for Dreamcore for a better boutique system build experience vs Aftershock. :s8:

Sounds like there is money to be made to DIY PC's for people. If I were to do this I would not take any money until I have confirmed that parts are in stock and there is an ETA on when they will be delivered.

2 to 3 weeks easy on you already.

I ordered on 20april. My estimated delivery date is 25 May.

Today i just asked if confirm 25 may can arrive as indicated on invoice because it is public holiday? Nope, need to delay 1 more day because no one working on holiday :s13:

Hope no further delays. The cso told me is still in queue. Need to do installation and testing. Im kinda worried because it is less than 1 week away to delivery date.

Aftershock isnt that bad to be honest but still a damn long wait.

Prism+ is worse. Kept delaying. My shipment from late apr to early may arrive. Delay to mid may. Then now late may.

My next rig i will just diy and monitors buy from reputable brands like samsung or dell. :s22:

Yea ** period is 1 thing, but meaning no stock on hand and wait for MOQ then order and ship to SG to fullfill customer in that case?

I feel you. I’ve ordered mine end of April and till now I’m still waiting. ETA is 25/6 also. Before I make an order, I do chat with them and was told 2-3 weeks. Once order done, confirmation mail was sent and told to wait till 25/6 due to ** etc etc. I’m like wtf. They offer me to take RTS or refund back. My next venue would be Dreamcore once my warranty ends with aftershock. As for reviews wise, I feel like they remove negative reviews and I’ve seen negative reviews gone in the next 2 days. I would go for DIY just that I’ve no knowledge troubleshooting if there’s any issue arise.

Maybe expand big liao, not like last time when still growing

Can't say for now but last time used to liaise with one of the co-founder Marcus wee to built a customized laptop back in 2013.

Both sales and after-sales service are pretty good, btw, back then i was only asked to pay a up-front deposit of $200 for a machine which cost $2.8k.

Now they require full up-front payment?

Yes. Require full payment as of now. Probably initial startup need to build trust and all. Since they’ve expanded and too many orders I supposed, they don’t want to miss any payments etc etc.

Correct. I am not sure about the experience now myself since I have not gotten anything from Aftershock for some time. But the experience was really good when the company was still small and certainly a lot more personal. No full payment in the past indeed. I recall you only pay like 10% or something just so that you don't fly by night or change your mind. Its good to see the business grow, but hopefully they can maintain their good customer service standards.

Anyway in terms of the delay, I am not sure about pre COVID 19 period, but at this point in time, a lot of places are encountering shortage of parts. Which could attribute to the delays. Some computer parts I was eyeing are either out of stock or with very limited stock. I am sure as a company, there is no reason why they would purposely delay your order and get the heat for nothing.
