If really worried, just go for oil change first, it's not that exp.
No offence but JDM isn't a spray painting shop. They sub out the work to a shop nearby, Why not go direct to the shops instead? For me if you want the best repair done, go to Lye design. Definitely not cheap but end results is always near perfection.
Any workshop recommendations to have those sporty mods? For mazda 3
Fake exhaust, rims etc
1. They will not but if they come out with eg. extended warranty (purchase) or other stuff related to Mazda, you will not be elligible.Hi can anyone help with this?

Welcome, that's something I did last time.Good idea! Thank you!
Leong Seng for rims, but watch your budget. For fake exhaust, most workshop can do, but no point.Any workshop recommendations to have those sporty mods? For mazda 3

Unless you have the tools to measure sound, nobody can say for sure what is the difference in decibels. Normally after spending money, placebo effect kicks in, shrimp will also say until got dragon got phoenix.Hello...Anyone did stp soundproofing for the mazda 3? How much does it cost and is there a significant noise reduction after installation? Thanks
Like you? Fake man?Rtes for fake dual exhaust
Just curious and want to hear some opinions. Since mazda skyactiv engine have very high compression ratio, anyone here pump 98? And do you think there is any diff when you pump 95 vs 98? For me personally i tried a few tanks of 95 and 98 and theres diff.
Thank you Bro EJB!
Oh ok. Can i know which model u driving?I have been pumping 95 since day 1 for 3 years except for occasionally Vpower in JB. Frankly not much difference.

Ok thanks![]()
For me is 95 or above (Mazda 6)No prob. If I am not wrong, the car manual recommends 92 and above?
Similar case. Very first ride out of Tanjung Penjuru TEK showroom, went to Shell pump 98 the non V power. Why? I remembered my salesperson say 95 is ok but if 98 will be better. Being my first car and being a naive driver, I went ahead.I have been pumping 95 since day 1 for 3 years except for occasionally Vpower in JB. Frankly not much difference.
There is no additional benefit of using 98 or vPower or Silver Techron for that matter.Just curious and want to hear some opinions. Apart from being 'cleaner' in JB and since it's cheaper, don't bother, its not like 98 will make the engine run faster. Placebo effect.I have been pumping 95 since day 1 for 3 years except for occasionally Vpower in JB. Frankly not much difference.
When remapping the ECU, tuner also recommended remain as 95, don't bother going for 98.Similar case. Very first ride out of Tanjung Penjuru TEK showroom, went to Shell pump 98 the non V power. Why? Thereafter, I woke up as I got very kind advice from the Mazda FB group and also the Telegram group. Since then been using Caltex 95 all the way. Coz nearby my house only got Caltex or SPC.
Before the Malaysian lock down, several times I tried pumping Shell V power racing. The engine roar sound very shiok, even without sports mode. But fuel efficiency suffer, no matter how carefully I drive or light footed I am. I think it the scientific nature of the petrol itself, where it burns a lot faster.
Anyway my point here is, follow the car manual's recommendations won't go wrong. And follow your wallet. 95 petrol all the way for me hehe
If you read my reply and disclaimer, I already say they are a broker, and I know they sub out to a spray painting shop.
jDM can help to ensure the delivery and quality I want after I make it clear what I expect. If I go direct to the workshop, they'd just want to get it done fast - and I hate getting my car sandblasted by the stray aerosol paint bits that fly around when workshops don't cover the car before spraying.
I'm picky down to the micro levels:
- Fine scratches/lines
- Smoothness
- Shine
- Swirls
- Two tones
- OTHER PARTS OF THE CAR NOT AFFECTED.
It's not just about the car coming back with paint, it's about the above to me also. Lye design I have heard of it, but car repairs is not something I can try out on a whim. I can only do so when I encounter need (CHOY!).
And I can't go in to any workshop, demand to see their delivery before deciding to send my car to them.
Personally, I went to JDM out of frustration with TEK and I needed a workshop to get my repairs done, my previous workshops (repair/paint) for my Toyota did a sh!tty job so I didn't head back. Truth be told, I had some insurance claim issue with the workshop he brokered for and he settled it for me - long story. I didn't pay a single cent.
That said JDM didn't deliver a 100% car back to me, but it was close to 80%, which to my standard is not bad already.
Even the car grooming I go to is not perfect, but their delivery is high enough to be accepted. Most workshops treat repairs as 'hit and run' - do, collect $, bye. JDM has the decency to fix a paint issue with my friend's car after I inspected and feedback to them - without arguing. Their concern was getting the job right.
Meanwhile @another workshop...My friend had an accident and forgo his courtesy car in exchange for a new paint job. I spotted at least 30 over defects alone without micro checking. It's like paint blobs on the surface, exploded leaving that little crater... and when I marked all of them out - the workshop owner screamed and shouted it's a free job what do we expect?
------
Finally, yes, there are always good and bad feedback about workshops, but still it's up to one's judgement if they like it. JDM didn't say they do the painting anyway.
When I was with Toyota Vios club, people commended RiverView Auto for servicing, 20K, 30K, okay, not too bad. When I was going for installing coilovers, I asked if they can install it, somebody told me 'they are a workshop, of course'.
It took me 4-6 drives to and fro to resolve issues, to no avail, they couldn't resolve a knocking issue. RV's reply was '2nd hand TEIN COs normally got problem', and suggested I remove it instead. Making a few checks, asking friends who play cars, I went to TEIN AD instead - ST Powered (go there in a vios really feel paiseh with all the super cars around).
$60 - problem solved. RV installed wrongly. No more sounds thereafter.
------
So workshops are the best? Not exactly, differs and not all recommendations work, evaluate, think and judge. I don't work for JDM, I get nothing out of it. Just that most of my Mazda basic repairs (windows, battery, camera etc), installation is done by them. If I can self service, I'll do it myself.
