Guys have a really noob qns here - what's the diff between the regular vs smart version?

I know regular means u have to connect via HDMI to your laptop, basically it just projects whatever ur laptop is playing

Smart version has built-in youtube/netflix means what/ Dun need connect to laptop at all??

Then how u type in or search for movies on youtube? The projector got keyboard meh

the smart is wifi with apps installed. think a keyboard will pop up to enter with the remote control.

if you are connecting to a laptop or pc, just get the non smart version will do. save that $49.

theres another brand with the same specs. i think they have a physical shop to see the demo. slightly cheaper. https://beamerx.sg/collections/projectors

it looks the same to me. im tempted to buy but yet to figure out a way to place the projector without getting in the way.

Ahh thanks for the detailed explanation! Actually I havent figured out where to place too lol. My room kinda small and dun even have a entire white wall to project

Just get the normal ones will do

The smart ones with built in apps are slow af and so much more expensive

i bought the smart version for my study room. downloaded singtel go app and now can use like a smart tv.... just bigger screen.

How much you got the Xiaomi? The price difference quite alot compared to the Lumos.

There's a group buy in qoo10 at $550. Used a coupon, reduced to about $500, then got another $10 cashback for using standchart card.

It's still more expensive but you get Android TV 9 compared to version 6 on the Lumos. Has auto focus which I felt was very convenient. Pictures are sharp and bright, and speakers are loud enough though I felt they could do with more bass.
