Ok my chromecast order via us Google store has been cancelled as well.
Shall just try wait for local release in Nov, if not then order from taobao.

No I am just hoping, because like pixel 5 there will be a 2nd wave launch in Nov.
So hoping these products will come to Singapore officially then.

Now it is S$80.90 at the official Xiaomi Global Store in Shopee.

Pixel 5 won't be sold in sg. Not surprised if chromecast GTV won't be released here either. After all Chromecast ultra wasn't sold here

I hope and I think they will release this new Chromecast 2020 in Singapore, but not within this year as it is under tight supply now even in USA. Hopefully some time next year.

Not interested in Pixel 5 phone at all. For me it is either iPhone or good enough mid end Android phone. I will not want to buy high end Android phones, as the differentiating factors like CPU (for gaming) and camera are not worth the premium for my use cases (using Huawei P20 Non Pro and Huawei Nova 5T now, previously iPhone 6S).

I used ezbuy shopforme to buy Chromecast with Google TV from Google US store on launch day. Took many days for them to ship the items but finally on their way.

I was thinking of this earlier too but decided to put on hold cos ezbuy's Fx rate is ridiculous, and they also charge some special handling fee for it. I'm trying to order from some other US websites hoping it won't get cancelled. Fingers crossed

Ha-ha, there are always sub S$50 or even sub S$25 boxes out there. And then there are boxes with better CPU or better connectivity. And then King of Android TV boxes is still Nvidia Shield TV.

If you do not need Neflix, there are some okay boxes to consider, like Minix NEO T5 (S$99 from Shopee) and Mecool KM1, both certified by Google but not Netflix.

I tried Google store, Best Buy and Target using vpost all got rejected.

I resorted to taobao order in the end too.
No status update as I took risk buying from one of the cheaper seller.

My tracking only says shipped, and awaiting warehousing signing. No location tracking from where and where leh. I dont even know where it is. First time using taobao, cheena also CMI. and they do package collation pay for shipping then send out together. I saw 空运 vs 海运 without knowing what the other words are. LOL. I havent figure out how to do that. Looks like I have to wait and see.

Qoo10, Shopee, Lazada all point to point shipping by parcel one.

Another twist on my latest attempt to buy from taobao. Realised the seller still unable to get stock from US after 3 days. So already requested for refund.
And I happened to find a seller on qoo10 selling it for $94 with shipping all in direct from US.

CPU benchmark. Chromecast 2020 is ahead of competitors, but of course slower than the more expensive FireTV Cube 2nd generation and Nvidia Shield TV.

Interested to see if the interface works in sg networks.

I tried loading the launcher and updated google app on my mi tv running android tv and while mostly working, the recommendations and ability to link apps wasnt.

Reccomendations only worked when i connected using a vpn to the states

If it works here without vpn means theres more components needed than just the launcher and the google app
