This was already in the pipeline since early 2000 when more and more parents complained.
Changing a country education system does not happen overnight or should I say it does not happen in less than 10 years.
More like 14 yrs after the major complain in media during year 2000.

Same goes for MRT reliability.

This narrative is rubbish. We have more breakdowns after piak or whatever her name is stepped down. Not to mention we pumped in all sorts of investments into upgrading new systems and trains. Why power trip cannot just flip back the switch like our home like tat? Or worse, no backup system or contingency plan to restore power in the shortest possible time?

Modern electric trains especially in urban networks are highly dependent on each other due to regenerative braking.

That’s why you cannot simultaneously start all trains along the line, usually trains are progressively added to the line.

It seems like they tried to divert power from the circle line and overloaded that circuit.

Some countries with older networks are still buying diesel electric trains for greater reliability.

They can consider buying a small fleet of diesel electric to use during the weekends along with reduced hours for more maintenance to be done.
