There are transactions on mobile website that allow me to pay using Apple Pay.

Would such transactions qualify for 6 percent cashback?

Are there any ApplePay Transactions that do not qualify for 6% cashback?

Hi yixiang1,

If you have already made the transaction, please drop us a secured mail via ibanking for a check on whether or not it is considered as an online transaction.

You may refer to this page for the full list of excluded MCCs under point 2:

My billing cycle on the 1st of every month and I have a transaction that got posted on 1 Nov.

Understand that Minimum Spend is based on transactions posted in calendar month. Is the calculation of cashback also based on transactions posted in calendar month?

I am not counting the Apple pay payments as ‘online’. I am counting them under mobile payments

Hi yixiang,

Mobile contactless transactions refer to purchases made in-store via Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay. If the MCC does not fall under the exclusion, mobile payment (Apple Pay etc) by tapping your phone at the merchant's credit card terminal in the store itself will be eligible.

Online transactions made via Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Fitbit Pay and Garmin Pay will not be eligible to receive any cashback under the “In-store Mobile Contactless” category.

Hi OCBC,

What about ABT Bus/Train transactions using the OCBC Frank card stored on Samsung Pay? Would they be included in 'In-store Mobile Contactless' category? Many thanks.

Hi Alpha04,

Cashback calculation will be based on the posted transactions in a calendar month.

If your billing cycle is on the 1st, it will display transactions posted from 2nd of the previous month to 1st of the current month.

Since the rebate calculation period and billing cycle is not aligned, for example, if we are calculating rebates for October's spending, we will need to:

Add in transactions posted in 1st October (which is shown in September's Statement) and remove transactions posted on 1st November.

Customers who would like to look at the statement to get a clear view of the transactions that are included in the rebate calculation for that month can opt for statement cycle 30/31 - For example, January statement will show transactions posted from 1 to 31 January only.

Hi there,

Please add the FRANK Credit Card to the mobile wallet to make payment for bus/MRT (tapping your mobile phone on the bus/MRT gantry) to be eligible for the 6% cashback on Mobile Contactless Payment category.

Would the Online Transactions made via ApplePay (although not mobile contactless and no cashback) then count towards the minimum spend of $600 a month? Other mobile contactless transactions can be entitled to 6 percent cash back once min spend of $600 is reached.

Hi there,

While Apple Pay payment made online on a merchant's website does not count toward the rebates for the In-Store Mobile Payment, it will count towards the 6% rebate for online spending (if the system indicator states that the transaction is processed as an online transaction, and the MCC is not in the exclusion list).

The transaction will count towards the minimum spend as well. Do refer to Clause 2 for exclusion of minimum spend - https://www.frankbyocbc.com/iwov-resources/pdf/tncs-frank-credit-card-wef-01jul20.pdf

You may also refer to https://www.frankbyocbc.com/iwov-resources/pdf/revised-frank-credit-card-wef-1jul20-faqs.pdf for more details on the rebates you are able to get on the FRANK credit card.

Hi there,

Android devices running on Lollipop 5.0 or higher should be able to support Google Pay. You may wish to check further with Google if your device is applicable.

As for your second query, are you check if Huawei Pay is applicable to earn rebates for mobile payment transactions?

Hi there,

To be eligible for tier up cashback, cardmembers must spend a minimum of S$600 based on eligible transactions posted in the same calendar month on the FRANK Credit Card.
