I feel all this year's the SAF issued shoes just gave basic support soles padding.

Then design change to look good / fashionable.

But the main purpose of the shoes I feel is to support / protect the user from the frequent pounding / pressure on the knees.

Which previous generation of shoes didn't really do so.

If not why people go buy outside running shoes that provides more support when running or excercise ?

I feel that upgrade the sole padding support is the top priority for future shoes design for our SAF service men.
Funny you think NSmen knees is a top priority to SAF :s13:

I use asic $200+ and $70+ sketcher to run 10km. Both are equally good except asics look more sophisticated and nicer.
Think sketcher is really not bad. If padding support for running is good, really feel good to run in it. After all if u run frequently, hard to keep on buying $200+ & once sole break, got to throw. Very heart pain.

I MR liao. So I buy outside running shoes and wear I can feel the difference in support cushioning.

So if last time SAF issued shoes is also as tokong as the top range models sold outside, I feel it will be great.

This is not about mind over body liao.
Support cushioning on the knees very important wan....moi now got knee pain on the right. Hard to do regular running liao.

That is right. Asics definitely have more technologies and the shoes are shaped to the feet outlines with arch support. Sketcher cushion feels a little bouncy but the sole is as durable.

Not so sure whether SAF is flexible on running shoes for trainee. Maybe for recruit doing BMT. They might not have a choice. After my BMT way back in early 2000. We were allowed to wear any running shoes for our run.

When a person is into running. He won't bother about what is the saf shoes being issued to him. He just get his own prefered running shoe.

For a US size 9. As long the shoe is more than 280g. It is considered heavy. Between 260 to 280g is just average. 240 to 260g not bad. 220 to 240 quite light. Below 220g. Super Very light and better use for sprinting fast pace like 2.4km under 7 mins timing. U know army like to go for camp run and that why they want a all rounder shoe. So it tend to be on a heavier side.

Knee injury then ooc, then not Enough combat soldiers.

Only if SAF can fight using drones / fighter robots, then all our men that is available currently will be precious resources.

But anyway I not from good school / not SAF scholars.

Just speaking my pov.

Can. My commando friends most below 7min. They smoke, eat deep friend food ect. But wear SAF running shoes, they almost fly.
So your friends are more humble than the one who claim he's the first guy to run under 7 mins....

It's not NS men. Actually, the top priority is the first year NSFs, because they are fresh and have the most energy. Second is second year NSFs. Last then NS men, who tend to be heywired already.

Regardless. Nsf or NSmen. Do you think their knees is top priority when purchasing shoes?

im guessing $ is higher priority , maybe next is durability , then design. last maybe your comfort

Chiu got to juz rotate. Shorter distance use sketcher, cross country or on rough terrain at McRitchie use Asics.
