So

Apologies, I was referring to Sony HT-G700 instead 😹
Ok so the Sony HT-G700 is a 3.1-channel soundbar. Can't upgrade.

I suggest you get a $1500+ soundbar with more features

Guys,

My SwanSpeaker D300 refused to power up, having tried all possible power troubleshooting (Change plug and socket) to no avail. It is only one year old, so now I have to fork out money to buy another soundbar/speaker for my tv.

As there is some distance (at least 2.5m) between the TV and sofa, can any expert recommend any value for money soundbar/speaker to me, please? My budget is not more than $700 and below are some of the recommendations by you guys in the previous few pages of this thread.

1) sony HT G700 ($619)
2) Yamaha Ats ($499)

Any suggestion is deeply appreciated.
Thank you
Your swans d300 is local set? Swans come with 2 year warranty. Go get the amp changed at tech dynamic

Yep, for real surround effects, really boh bian, must pony up moolah for more features. I was really tired of trying out $500-$700 soundbars, and the thought of adding speakers to the rear for a minimum of good 5.1 effect didn't appeal to me.

I have a Philips Fidelio HTL9100 with is a true 4.1 speaker system, the side speakers are detachable can can be used as rear surround speakers, which I like. Only downsides are, no center speaker, and overall sound lacked power as I'd gotta turn up volume to very high to get some impact.

When I saw its newer and bigger sibling, the Fidelio B97/98 which supports Dolby ATMOS, DTS:X and Imax Enhanced plus a myriad of other features, I went for it. No regrets, really powerful, though ATMOS height effect is so 'meh'. But the detachable side speakers acting as rear or side speakers really do help with the surround effects.

Sonos beam gen 2+ 2 sonos sl or bose 700?
Which one will you get?
previously...i was testing out bose system...

quite surprisingly...when playing back movies or bassy music...the sub will "jump"

Am now using Sonos Beam Gen 2 + 2 x Ones + Sub Gen 3..

Weakest link is my tv coz it doesnt support dolby vision or dolby atmos haha

Might eventually upgrade to Arc though.

Take some pics of how the box / TV fits in your lift bro..
sure! Hope i can catch them when it arrives tomorrow :D

Sorry to OT here, but any good soundbar to recommend in the region of $1k plus minus ?
I've been using the LG SL9YG. it's decent but disappointing in music and the wireless Sub sometimes either dont work or they connect late...a bit frustrating at times..

I’m using a Denon
Good sound and function especially if you don’t go nuts on fake atmos
This is "only" a three channel soundbar, and it's emphasis is on good sound reproduction and bass.
Give it a listen, I have recommended it to a few friends and they enjoy it especially at it's current clearance price.
Not for those who clamour after Atmos, but for those who want good sound..

If willing to pay 1K plus. Always consider Yamaha. Their tunning is quite different from other brand. My guess is hardware is mostly similar.

The only way to know if it is fake ATMOS or not is to check which decoding chip it use.
I know Denon make very good AV receiver and frequently been rated one of the best (refer to YouTube). But not the sound bar and speakers.
May I suggest you audition this before you decide on the sound quality
It’s definitely Not the chip that determines whether the atmos implementation or not. Please read up on what it takes to give a good atmos surround experience

Think you can check as ATMOS chip is licensed (same as DB chip).

The surround experience depends on the speaker placement and levels, lots of hard work with a SPL meter and some EQ software. Not a chip.
Decoding Atmos is a small component. Do your homework please.

Anyway, I won't OT here.
Those interesting in Atmos and how to get a good Atmos surround experience should look to the right threads in the HT section.
But for those reading, please make sure you do a fact check, and feel free to double check what has been posted by myself and others, and see who is correct.
