For me 225/45/R17 about 36PSI would be more suitable, balance of grip and comfort.

If you are ok with about 6% decrease in the contact patch size.

at petrol station always pump a bit extra cause the temp is high, pressure will read higher...and many ppl pump when going home (after a long ride) if u really want to pump when cold, get a portable pump and pump the tyres after parking overnight.

As long as within 5km like at 5am in the morning, the tyres won't warm up that much. My house to Esso is only 2.6km. No need get portable pump.

Actually pump tyre with compensation when they are hot is a more accurate method as they will be equal all around.

I disagree.

Rear tyres may not be as 'hot' as the front tyres after driving around some time on a hot sunny day. Likely explanation is that the front brakes do most of the braking work, so heat dissipation at the front brakes are higher compared to the rear, so the front tyres tend to be slightly higher in temperature.

That is why the recommendation is to pump when the tyres are cold, where the tyres have the same temperature as the ambient temperature.
