I feel its logical to have igpu as my current MB doesnt support and i couldnt use the comp when my GPU got fried.

so i guess narrowing down to these options

2) 12600k+msi z690 is - $747 (FUWELL)
3) 12700F + MSI PRO B660M-A Wi-Fi D4 - $703 (PCThemes)
4) 12700 + MSI B660M Mortar Wifi D4 --- $809 <- can check where you get this price? cause Fuwell price list is $822
5) 12700 + MSI PRO B660M-A Wi-Fi D4 - $741

differences between MSI PRO and Motar not worth the upgrade?

Depending on the features, you go compare the features to see if it's worth it to you ah. The cheaper one already can drive a 12900K, so really is about the features. Go read the manual for both, haha.

I feel you should leave the settings as is, i.e. don’t bother limiting it. Like I mentioned, if you don’t get cheap and poorly build boards, throttling or overheating is quite unlikely. Assuming the board really can’t handle the chip, it will auto throttle anyway. So don’t limit it, unless there is a very strong reason to do it.

yar.. that's why picking a well-reviewed board based on vrm is important. Not really all about price, as there are times the more expensive option can turn out to be a disappointment.

Yes, I went for the iGPU version because in case my GPU is in “hospital”, I am still able to use my computer. Not for games, but at least I can still use it. For a small price, I think it is worth it for me.

If you are using the stock cooler, then you need to be prepared for high temperature. The cooler is just too basic to keep the chip cool when boosting.

I bought MSI MORTAR B560M (SGD110) and i7 10700f (SGD335) ... upgrade from i5 8500.
Dont plan to upgrade anytime soon plus i7 has better resale value when the time comes.

If you going for 12th gen get then 12700k or kf variant. Avoid the 12700f as the difference not alot and resale value better. U can run 12700k/kf on b660m board

I am a peasant and $80 to me is a lot for negligible performance gain @ stock speeds. Not to mention the need to buy a Z board and expensive cooler to pair to take advantage of the OC.

Bro, you bought a 10700F for $335. A brand new 12400F is $69 cheaper and costs $266, beating the 10700F in both single-core and multi-core performance.

The selling point for 12700 will still be there...as it is compatible with DDR4...
whereas Ryzen 7000 till date no news on supporting DDR4...

if you are going for upgrading... i think 12700 could be a good choice.
Unless you are going for a new build, guess that's depends on your budget.
