For AX3600 local set, can i flash it with china firmware and then will it be compatible with AX6000 to form a mesh?
That is the question I can not answer. Hopefully someone here can confirm.
For AX3600 local set, can i flash it with china firmware and then will it be compatible with AX6000 to form a mesh?
@xiaofan or anyone knows?
if i have a main router (non-xiaomi), and i have 2 x AX6000, and these 2 AX6000s will be connected to the main router via wired backhaul.
How do I configure these 2 AX6000 to AP mode and form a mesh between these 2?
I will be be turning off the wifi of my main router btw.
again, thanks in advance!
Hey bro,Hello all, can advise if the range of wifi for AX3600/6000/9000 is good?
I used to have the ASUS ROG GT-AX11000 (free when u sign up for MR's gaming plan).
Router is placed in my living room which is kinda in the centre of my house.
Issue is that MBR, especially the corner of MBR, got almost 0 wifi reception.
Blue is where i placed the router, the "dead spots" are the red circles.

So i switched to Ubiquiti's UDM and a NanoHD. I think probably is i dunno how to set or what, just feel like i cant get the best performance of our the Unifi interface. Also, the wifi performance, in my own opinion, is normal and both speed and performance is normal, if not bad.
Also, abit tired of Mesh system liao because i think our flats all so small, no matter how you mesh, sure will have alot of overlapping signals from the main router and the rest of the mesh's AP. I think this result in the devices not able to optimally connect to the correct AP which also may result in poor wifi and roaming.
As such, thinking of switching to just a 1 main router which hopefully have good wifi range that can cover my whole house.
If not, backup plan is to just get 2 xiaomi routers and create another mesh system via wired backhaul (bobian if really 1 router cannot) and place it as such, any comments?

What you guys think?
Thanks!
Hi, my layout as follows with UDM in the living room and my NanoHD on the other red X.Hey bro,
just curious as to the placement of ur udm and nanohd and how big is ur flat?asking as this is the first time I heard this combo is not able to cover their flat.
HI @xiaofan, quick update. So i bought a AX6000 so i can test out the range and signals i can get by placing at different parts of my home and then moving around and checking the signal received. It's all okie but i realised the settings are too simple that I couldnt customized as much as I want such as setting minimum dBm.It should work. You can follow the guiide here (in Chinese).
After setting up the main router (other brand), set up the main AX6000 node in AP mode, then add the second AX6000 node as mesh node.

1. Hp cannot connect to 5ghz by nanohd-Hi, my layout as follows with UDM in the living room and my NanoHD on the other red X.
Red Circle is where i couldnt get much wifi.
Also, all along it seems that my iphone cannot connect to the 5G network broadcast by my NanoHD.
I've been troubleshooting for very long liao but till now still same issue...so i also give up liao.

A. Is your nanohd broadcasting in dfs channel? -No1. Hp cannot connect to 5ghz by nanohd-
Ans:
pls check 3 things.
A. Is your nanohd broadcasting in dfs channel?
https://www.smallnetbuilder.com/bas...r-s-wi-fi-dynamic-frequency-selection-dfs-faq
B. If A is yes, is ur hp capable of receiving dfs channels?
C., is your nanohd broadcasting in 160mhz?if yes, pls set it to 80mhz 5ghz as not all devices support 160mhz.
2.Red Circle is where i couldnt get much wifi.
Ans:
A. Is ur X behind a wall/door and are the walls in the flat partition walls(hollow sounding) and or concrete walls(solid sounding like ur toilet walls?)?
Ai. X Is indeed a weird place to place ur access point. Normally I would place it at the ceiling just outside bedroom and master bedroom in ur floor plan. I assume that the access point is mounted on the ceiling?
B. Is ur nanohd broadcasting 5ghz and 2. 4 ghz? If yes, pls set both to full power transmit and see whether u can receive any wifi signals in the dead spot? Ideally 5ghz should be set to full power transmit while 2.4ghz should be set to medium power but just do this to see the effect on ur dead spots...
3. Yes. Normally it shouldn't be so hard to get a good signal with unifi gear as I am running it in my 2 year old new bto smoothly. That's why my curiosity was aroused by ur difficulty and I was wondering whether it had to do with
1. Ap /router settings
2. AP placement
1.Yeah. Nothing wrong with wanting that.A. Is your nanohd broadcasting in dfs channel? -No
B. If A is yes, is ur hp capable of receiving dfs channels? - I dunno
C., is your nanohd broadcasting in 160mhz?if yes, pls set it to 80mhz 5ghz as not all devices support 160mhz. - No
A. Is ur X behind a wall/door and are the walls in the flat partition walls(hollow sounding) and or concrete walls(solid sounding like ur toilet walls?)? -Mounted on the Ceiling within my Cupboard
- Both Medium
Thanks for your help. To be frank, whatever you had asked above, i had changed the settings multiple times.
Only thing i cannot do is to move the AP since it's hardwired and there's only so many lan points my house can have.
Like i said in my earlier posts, probably it's due to my lack of knowledge in networking that I'm unable to fully fulfil the potential of the Unifi System. I'm not denying that it's a good networking ecosystem.
However, from my point of view, at the end of the day, I just want something that can work according to how I wan it to work.

Probably I will just wait for August when i can re-contract my MR. then get the ASUS ROG GT-AX11000 for free and then a get couple of Asus nodes to setup AiMesh for my home.
Got a couple of qns though and will post it in the Asus thread later.
Thanks!
Hello. Sorry I am a complete newbie to this so please bear with me. I am currently using a google wifi mesh system (3 pack, 1st gen) for my home and using Starhub 1gbps broadband. I’m looking to upgrade to Xiaomi AX 3000/3200 (2 to 3 points) and wanted to know if I would expect a huge speed/range gain, for example if there would be any limitations due to the 1gbps broadband speed or if I would be able to achieve similar range with just 2 Xiaomi instead of 3 Google Wifi points.
can starhub use this xiaomi router?
Hi @xiaofan,
Appreciate if you can advise. Thanks in advance.
Current setup.
Singtel 1Gbps plan.
Using ONT modem.
Using Singtel Mesh Router.
All the 4 scv points in the house fixed to a goCoax MA2500D individually.
1) Living room
Singtel Mesh Router (SMR)
--> Airties 4920.
SMR -->TPLink TL-SG1008P --> goCoax --> SCV point
2) guest room
SCV point --> goCoax --> Airties 4920 --> PC
3) study room
SCV point --> goCoax --> Airties 4920 --> PC
4) master bedroom
SCV point --> goCoax --> Airties 4920 --> TV
Wifi speed for whole house
250mbps to 550mbps.
Ethernet cable to PC
500mbps to 920mbps.
Questions
1) Can I change from Singtel Mesh Router to Xiaomi AX3000 (local SG set)?
I think upgrading from wifi 5 to wifi 6 router will improve the speed further.
2) if the answer to 1 is yes, can I also change the Airties in the study room to Xiaomi AX3000, and set the user id and password to be the same as the Airties, so that when I walk around my house with my mobile device, the wifi signal will not dropped?
3) or should I change the Singtel Mesh Router to AX3000 ?
And also change the other 4 airties to AX3000 ?
So total buy 5 AX3000?
Many thanks
1) Are you using Singtel TV box when you mention that "Airties 4920 --> TV"? Ot is is just a normal Smart TV?
If the answer is that you are using Singtel TV box and then you may have to keep the Singtel Mesh Router as the main router. And you may have to keep the Airties for the Singtel TV box.
If you do not use Singtel TV box, then you should be able to use Xiaomi AX3000 local set as the main router. You need to set up Singtel VLAN profile.
2) Airties and Xiaomi may not mesh together well.
3) All Xiaomi setup will be good for mesh. But you may not need so many Xiaomi AX3000. Rather you buy two first to see the coverage and then buy more if needed.
Yes. I am using Singtel TV box.
Setup are as follows:
Living room.
Singtel Mesh Router -->TPLink TL-SG1008P --> Singtel TV box.
Bedroom.
goCoax --> Airties --> normal Smart TV.
Note that Airties is not connected to the Singtel TV box.
In this case, is the Xiaomi AX3000 suitable to replace the Singtel Mesh Router? And I'll retain all the existing Airties.
Thanks
