dont think there is a xiaoxin pad that comes in Original global rom.

All the xiaoxin pads that have global rom are custom roms.
The Xiaoxin Pads don't come with global ROM is correct. But sellers do flash the the genuine global ROM for those which have a global equivalent. But Lenovo seemed to have put a stop to it... the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2020 was sold with global ROM for a while until Lenovo put a stop to it by implementing a region check when flashing the global ROM to the Xiaoxin Pads... so for now, your statement holds true... but it seems that some sellers manage to flash the global ROM for the Lenovo Tab M10 Plus 3rd Gen to the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad 2022... but not clear if it works cos the chip sets are not the same...

If based on below:
  • budget of $300-$400
  • hassle-less without having to flash roms
  • external memory card expansion
  • won't be watching Netflix
  • LTE not necessary
  • local warranty good to have

Other than Lenovo Tab M10+ (3rd Gen) Redmi Pad, Oppo Pad Air, what other options can I consider? I know there are a series of Xiaoxin Pad, but honestly I am confused too many models of similar specifications...

Personally I am looking at Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2022) US Version and it is selling at $320. I don't really like Lenovo. Redmi Pad seems ok at $369. Never seen Oppo Pad Air selling in SG. I think S Pen at $320 seems to be an attractive buy considering Snapdragon processor. I saw on YouTube saying the 2022 S6 Lite also has DEX?

Apart from Samsung, I still think best value is the xiaoxin pad pro 2022 for its OLED screen. Get it from online china during sales to have the best deal.

Also people have now confirmed that netflix can run in HD already. The China rom can update OTA and most recent update, netfliz is L1 certified.

Which tablet got 120hz oled display, 1440p reso, with a power efficient processor and 6gb to 8gb ram that is only $340 to $370 if purchased in sg? For this type of specs, Samsung sure sell higher

Hi

Plan to get a 2nd hand Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021.

The current firmware is 13.1.56 ST

Is this the original Zen CN firmware or?

And what is the latest firmware version for the tablet now?

Pr i should get a Pad pro 2022?

Thank you.

Got DEX... which is useful if you're going to off to do some productivity work on it and the S-pen in the box is a boon. But no warranty which I guess is ok for you. And also it is an LCD screen lar... I think most users who only consume media on the tablets may prefer to have a OLED screen.

Thing is that for the specs, it will be competing in the same space as the Xiaoxin Pad 2022, which is roughly similar? The S6 Lite runs a SD720G which is likely more powerful still than the newer SD680 on the Xiaoxin Pad 2022 but it only has 4 GB RAM which to me is a deal breaker cos the current systems really require more RAM so the 6GB on the Xiaoxin Pad 2022 is much better in that respect. But the S6 Lite comes with the S-pen which make the deal for those looking for one whereas you have to buy the Lenovo Precision Pen 3 separately. Both perform similarly but the cost advantage of the Xiaoxin Pad 2022 (about $100) is severely eroded by the cost of that Precision Pen 3 ($70-80)....

So the Samsung S6 Lite comes in at $320 while the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2020 comes in a $314 with OLED screen, more RAM, larger storage. The caveat here is if you still can get the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2020 lar... and it's running Android 11 and doesn't seem to be in the upgrade list to Android 12, whereas the Pa6 Lite comes with Android 12 and will likely be upgraded for the next 2 OS revisions...

Lots of tradeoffs to consider... heh heh...
