Applied 172 and uploaded the NOA for 3 days still no news...many people are applying?
You can call their hotline to check on the status of the application. Sometimes it has been approved but the SMS has yet to be sent out.

This just means that it is under processing. Probably wait for another few more biz days and you should get a reply soon.

Well if you think you can get value back from the $1712/1728 annual fee on a 120k annual salary then sure.
Not really my question. My income around 150K but previously kept getting rejected when the official number was 200K. Wondering if anyone tried applying after the update, don't want to get rejected and get put on the 6mth cool down for nothing. The annual fee is not an issue.

Did they say the rejection is because of the income?

The 6th month cooldown is just advice.

I applied using the public offer just a few months ago, got rejected (only learnt from calling in; they didn't even send me a letter), but got approved immediately after with a fresh application using a targeted invite that Amex sent likely because of my 4+ year history with them.

That said, if your circumstances are unlikely to change considerably in the next 6 months, I don't know why you are afraid of being put on "cooldown".

Next NOA will be higher. How did you get them to send the targeted invite? Did you register interest somewhere?

Don’t waste time on this card anymore. Firstly, the new renewal benefit is not attractive enough for the annual fee. Secondly, having this card does not feel premium anymore compare due to the revised income requirement. My membership will be due next march. Will spend the voucher given next year and just cancel it once the membership fee is due march

If your income is enough and have good credit rating, just apply.

I think they sent the invites to most non-Platinum charge card holders who've spent past a certain amount, regardless of their income. Some people even get phone calls inviting them.

Since your next NOA will most likely only be generated around March/April, there's no harm in trying to apply now if you think you can use the benefits, and if the sign-up bonus is good (I think it's trash compared to a few months ago).

You even get to dip into the $400+$400 travel credits before they go away next year.

Yea it's pretty trash but the 800 credits makes it a $900 card.

Don’t know why still got ppl apply for this card starting this month.

This month sign up bonus worst than last month.
Plus now not eligible for free platinum reserve card anymore.

So, you pay $1712, but get less sign up bonus, and no free staycation, and no free wine etc etc.
