First 1 million notional, the first is 0.2 bps. So, it should be 20 dollars. When more than 250 thousands, the fee is higher than minimum of 5 dollars.
USD of course, plus GST if it’s an Interactive Brokers Singapore account.

Hi, I’d like to buy some US-T bills. Do I have to download the TWS app or can I perform the trade on the Client Portal? As this would be my first trade on IBKR, would someone be able to kindly give me the step-by-step instructions on how to perform the trade? Thank you.

first trade on IBKR... does that mean you are changing money to USD just for this purpose?

Thanks, reddevil0728.

I already hold USD.

I did some tests by entering values and previewing the order. Although the estimated total cost is less than the amount of USD I have in my cash account, I note at the bottom of the Preview page, a table listing out the balances for position, Equity w/loan, initial margin, maint. margin. I presume I can just ignore the values shown for initial and maint. margins and be assured that I have not/will not be borrowing funds to purchase the T-bills?

without further details can't say for sure. why not change urs to a cash account if you don't plan to use margin?

This morning USA 6 month Tbill % going up
Strong ISM data, implies Fed will raise more, less probability to pause anytime soon. Stocks go down, yield go up.

But as long as holding individual TBill, worst case just hold until maturity, won't lose money one.

After the announcement late last week , it fell.
Now recovered to almost 52 week high. 4.744%
We are nearly at the peak of the projected cycle (5% - 5.25%), not unexpected.

The 10 year T-bills offer more insights into the future rates.

Yah. 6 months is only for short term.
When we think peak already, must buy long term bonds or FD (but those only have few years, yah?)
