last year, i had to use their phone banking system to apply for which was silly (I didn't get to speak to human being, just told to 'press 1' to apply for waiver which was auto-approved by the system.

I gave feedback to my RM that its silly for priority client to waste time doing this.

This year, I got an SMS that the annual fee has been waived without doing the phone banking application. So I guess what SCB is doing is that all those who meet whatever spending threshold will be auto-waived. The threshold is not high, my annual spend on the card is low 4 figures.

OCBC Premier - lifetime annual fee waiver for their infinite. I didn't apply for it, they just sent it to me and told me no fees. I am also using their Frank card (also lifetime fee waiver) as my 'free' cashcard/ez-link card. My spend on the Frank card is 0, but every 5 years I get a new Frank card, so no need to spend $5 to buy Ez-link card. I am the last of the big spenders :)

UOB Privilege - lifetime annual fee waiver of their signature card. They offered me infinite but told me have to apply for waiver, I declined.

So the question is why am I holding onto SCB card.? The answer is petrol discount at Caltex with SCB is better than my other UOB/OCBC cards, and Caltex is my nearest petrol station. When I change to EV I will probably cancel the SCB card.

super easy. whole year I only use the card for petrol, Still can waive.
My wife just applied for this card. The application to submission was a total pain in the ass. Once submitted, it takes less than a week to get approval. And it is free. The card looks cheapo as compared to the same atas card in the range but ok la. 24 lounge visits a year. If you travel 2 times, can bring ur whole family in. Quite handy since we gg to start lots of travel. Only issue is not sure whether supplementary card can have the same perks

I got an SMS that stated that my card fee this year was waived, same as last year. No need to use phone banking or whatever to apply for waiver. Same as last year, I only use the card for petrol.

When you say you can bring the whole family in - the family members must still pay the guest visit fee or is it really free for guests?

I think free as long as it is within 24 visits (for AUM > $200k) or 4 visits (AUM < $200k)

SCB service is quite good, I like the auto annual fees waiver approach, saving time and the 'anxiety' of uncertainty.

among all, the no minimal commission fees for SG stocks and low USA stocks commission fee is very good for me. sometimes I just buy 2-3 USA shares, the rate is proportional,I can take my time to buy small quantity over a long time.

I use the USD wire service as well.

Agreed and the no minimum commission good for slow and small accumulation. What I don't like/understand is their USD FD interest rate is pretty low comparing to DBS. Not good for my USD plans for investing and currently park under their FD.

IBKR don’t really like ppl to use their platform to just change money and that’s it apparently.

account can be suspended if there’s large volume of just that

I do trade options and go long on ibkr. Typically what I do is I will accumulate using ibkr then once it hits $200k, I will transfer to SCB. Haha! But I remember during my transfer, got some shares (mainly etf) cannot transfer over because they are held by different custodians hence it got rejected
With so much activity, I doubt they will ban me la

So long is not primarily using them as fx changer then maybe better

Not sure for IBKR if they are charing TT out? SCB for TT in even priority customer still charge S$10, unlike DBS Tresures no charge at all for TT in.
