i think prism got decent gaming curved screens...
if u put your "decent gaming curved screens" beside the alienware or samsung qd oled monitor. you will know how bad the colors are.

if u see it on its own, yes it look decent.

so if one is budget concious, just stick with prism. once u go oled, u cant go back. :p

nope.. zero fan noise.

text fringing also dont affect me, as i cant even see it haha..

I have use alot of monitors from a 144hz tn panel to a 360hz IPS panel. VA 165hz ultrawide panels from xiaomi and huawei

QD oled is the best of all in terms of colors and no apparent ghosting.

The only monitor tech i didnt use is mini led. but seeing the blacks are better on QD OLED so yea.
Yeah I've seen the QD OLED from Alienware DWF in person the colors are better than Mini LED VA Panels on Samsung Odyssey NEO series.

If just see by itself, looks good enough... If side by side with even against their own brand flat screen IPS, can see the difference already..... I have both and now will not go to curve VA liao...no matter how cheap it is... HDR400 vs HDR10 is a lot of difference... HDR400 is like as good as dont have..

that looks like the first batch of AW3423DW with the buggy firmware that cannot be updated.

We are talking about the DWF and the DW that is after the firmware upgrade in the more recent batches that fix the HDR already.
Hi there, what do you do when the monitor shows this: pixel refresh every 4 hours. I selected don’t show me the message again.

Yes I turn it off. U don't really need to do that if u know u always change your screen and never leave it static for long. I always put Screensaver if I idle 2 mins.

same here, some people on reddit say just press the power button on the bottom right hand corner everytime we wanna afk, the pixel refresh will kick in. Honestly this monitor is the nicest looking monitor I have ever seen and owned. Really like it alot, still trying to get use to ultrawide since I am coming from 27 inch.

For windows 10 gaming, decided to stick to one monitor.

For my MacOS work, dual screen for now, with my 27GL850 being in vertical mode.

fan noise is totally not a concern for the aw3423dwf.

only for those first batch of aw3423dw with first day launch firmware. those had a very strong fan curve that make it noisy

for me i only can hear my pc fans. cant even hear the fan on my DWF.

yea so i dont bother with this pixel refresh since i always have screensaver. change my folder, taskbar etc to black color. wallpaper also base background in black with alienware logo. everything in dark/night mode so that the black stands out. making my desktop page look very premium haha..

i only do periodic pixel refresh, maybe once a month. when i go afk during lunch time, i turn it on and let it run. it will auto shut off after its done which is around 7 mins or so. Doing it just for fun. Once u know your image will always change, pixel refresh not important, even though the panel indicated health is unhealthy. Because that unhealthy status is just a timer only, after few hours it will auto change status one, just to alert ppl to do it.

for the lg 27 inch, apart from the higher refresh rate of 240hz, is WOLED better than QD OLED?

My assumption is always QD oled is better than WOLED due to QD oled being brighter and less susceptible to burn in.

And now i am on 34 inch ultrawide, i cant go back to a 16:9 aspect ratio...will look kinda small to me already haha..

QD OLED looks better, if there was a QD OLED 240Hz I would get that instead but there isnt. I have too many monitors so I don't actually need the space for ultrawide, doesn't do anything for me, the peripheral vision on the side is a distraction.

My pc only rtx 3070, when playing 3440x1440, only hit 90 fps in call of duty.

only games like overwatch 2 can hit 165fps etc.

Tbh, gaming on LG 48C1 is more immersive. Highly recommend people to consider lg 42c2, for me I also use aw3423dwf for work, and c1/c2 auto brightness limiter kick in will be irritating.
