My hubby and I can FIRE now only that our sons will need to get student loans for their uni. Dunno if they can even make it to uni esp my younger homeschooling boy.

We will have a fully paid up 4 bedder freehold condo, a semi d in JB fully paid and rented out for S$1k appr ox a mth. And S$900k for us to draw down S$4 k a mth till 65 years old. So S$5k a mth from now. We r 48 and 51 years old. Cpf life then gives us at least S$3k a mth and plus JB rental will be S$4k a mth till we go.

But in reality I can only FIRE in my dreams as hubby holds the majority of cash S$700k vs my S$200k. And he is unlikely to use it for FIRE. Sob...

So I just gotta continue to slog in my job and pay for expenses while he is jobless and shake leg at home. So unfair.

By right since he has so much, he should share in the expenses but he says he has no income. Uses all his money for investment while my money is used for expenses. Sometimes feel so bullied by him.

Even though he paid off my car loan of S$47k. He now insists the car is his and doesn't let me drive without his permission. While I have to pay for fuel, insurance and tax. He says will sell once resale value drops to get his S$47k back unless I buy it back from him. So in effect there is no loss for him at all.

I borrowed quite heavily in ringgit.
You interested in Malaysian properties?
Yes, since I can never buy SG property and I will never be given PR here, I am interested in Malaysia property and MM2H. The new requirement is 40K RM monthly salary and my IRAS assessment is around 150k SGD which includes bonus and employer private pension contribution, so it should cross the 40K RM if my annual salary is divided by 12. But fixed monthly salary is around 10.7k SGD.

I heard Malaysia is good for medical education, is this true? My daughter is still in 6th grade, but it would be a consideration for higher education too.

Edit: correct link now

Sarawak MM2H (S-MM2H)

The Sarawak MM2H programme has attracted a lot of attention following the very stringent rules under the new national programme. Sabah and Sarawak control their own immigration. Sabah has so far chosen to follow the national MM2H programme, but Sarawak...

Wait for them to revise the conditions of MM2H, I bet they need to attract High net worth individuals to digest unsold properties in Johor and Selangor. Anwar has royalties support, I bet this is one of the conditions, to bring in foreign investments.
A lot of medical institutions offer medical educations in Malaysia, but you have to choose one that offers twinning program which is recognized by MOH Singapore. Not difficult to get in as long as you have money. I was invited for a full scholarship interview by IMU before, at the end I didn’t turn up coz I was too lazy to go all the way to KL.

Not sure how easily it is to get a medical degree in India that is recognized in Singapore.
if I have a daughter, I will try my best to steer her away from India.
Malaysia medical colleges offer twinning program with universities that are recognized by MOH Singapore. This is a route that could be explored, but not many Singaporeans aware of this.

India MBBS is very difficult to get in and fees is very high and then doctors earn very little in India, unless they are very experienced and specialized.

India is good for IT and to some degree in Finance, but other careers dont pay that well.

The scholarship they asked to go interview for was the 5 years local program, at that time I already gotten scholarship offer and admission to NUS, hence I just ignored.
If it is the twinning program, highly likely I would try my luck by attending the interview.

the twinning program is very good, I knew of someone attended it and now she is a happy doctor in Singapore. She spent 3 years in KL and 2 years in UK, saves a lot of money for her family and eventually work as a doctor in sg. Her A levels result was 2A and 1 B and 1B for GP.
