I think the key thing is to read the T&Cs and don’t assume that you wouldn’t get into an accident.
Wow my thread has been blessed by one of my greatest hardwarezone inspirations.

well bad drivers are not fit to drive either owned car or rental car. If one is not sure or cannot to risk exoendutu they should stay away from car rental/sharing

Even good drivers can get into accident.

but it’s not so much about getting into accidents.

but rather it’s about making sure one reads the T&Cs of what happened in the event of one. And not be in denial about the “unfairness”

Hi guys. What’s your feedback
I used to car share (car club) for many years. Convenience of course is there for casual use at a far lower commitment lvl than long term rental or buying ... but if you really suay and get into an accident it can be very expensive.

Carclub and whizzcar now under Tribecar. Tribecar expanding super fast but their app like ****. Getgo really invest in their product

The most popular is Getgo and Tribecar. Their fleet of cars is so much more so you have higher chances of getting a car.

I used a lot of Getgo before I got my own and enjoyed using their service.
Easy to book and the cars in my area are relatively well maintained.

There was also a Tribe car which was a new Jazz but their app and service are terrible.
Super confusing T&Cs particularly the fuel portion where you're supposed to return the car just short of the low fuel indicator coming on.
End up everybody just top up a few litres (which bumped the cost up to above Getgo's structure) or pray that the indicator doesn't come on during your booking.
And when I emailed them on closing my account they directed me to print out a physical form to be mailed to their office wtf

Now I have reservations on signing up for tribecar.

I really find the whole fuel consumption and mileage rates very unorganized in all these companies. Also cannot see the benefits and x-factor of getgo when mileage is charged 39c/km. Do a small chore can already clock like 10km for $4. Like this bluesg easily better and more flexible. Therefore fuel top-up seem cheaper but there is always a case of you benefitting or you being made to fund others. Surprised the fuel consumption/gauge cannot be transmitted to the app for both driver and regulator to monitor.

U won't be so inclined towards Bluesg once u check out their payable excess in case of an accident.
Getgo is alright but their peak hour charges are quite high at $11 ? per hour.

I am super inclined with blue sg and I calculate my risks for accidents. They are both very good for pricing and convenience. And there Is no competition as everyone else is a-a

Wow bro you auditor level. Haha. I just use noob brain and feeling .

I calculate my risk based on my current track record of driving. i am betting 3k/10k that I won’t be involved in accident with blue sg.

Bluesg cos once a while it’s fun to drive and it makes sense. 8 different cars available near my home. I have driven to a few places. Though it’s not any much cheaper than taxi it’s still fun.
I decided to signup with getgo and Carlite cos I also will use a-a service to do small chores near my home. calculate getgo and Carlite may only be cheaper than bluesg at super off peak. Bluesg all day flat pricing appeal to me

Their excess like someone point out might be crazy.

the thing about accident is not based on some stats but can happen anytime

Same analogy like you cannot leave your home if you fear death.

that’s why I make an expensive bet. If I langa even a bit can lose 3k or 10k

Yaya. My point is, track record may not be a relevant metric.

but rather just need to be aware of the excess.

Don't bother with tribecar and just go with Getgo since they have so many locations these days

I like the Getgo fee structure because of it's transparency. Yes it's cost is marked up, if you drive a 10km/L car the per km cost is around 27c before discount so it is reasonably not far from personal car usage cost.

The problem with bluesg is that if your chores take more than an hour, the $25 hourly rate makes it more expensive.
Plus depending on the location it may be hard to book a bluesg at peak hour so it's only workable if you have a flexible schedule and no time commitments
