When I log onto dbs ibanking website, the digibot will immediately pop up at my bottom right hand corner, it will state ' 3 yrs lock in for guaranteed returns of 3.65% p.a. with SavvyEndowment 12. Plus, up to S$50 vouchers with promo code DBSSE12. Learn more. T&Cs apply.' . Not sure whether promo code is exclusive. Hope this helps

Thanks!

How to choose between fixed deposit and endowments?which one more safe and more returns?
FD usually can terminate at any time, and you get back the entire principle. Some banks may even give you base rate interest

Endowment must wait until maturity then can get back the entire principle.
The earlier you terminate, the more money you lose.

That is also why my preferred in order of priority is FD first and then endowment second.

Currently the FD rates are dropping which is why I have to resort to endowment instead.

If very sure can hold until maturity, and if rates are good, can go for endowment.

If suay suay really have emergency, then will have no choice but to take a loss to terminate endowment before maturity.

That is why never all in to any investment instrument. Always a bit here a bit there. Which means have some in FD some in endowment etc

If I want short term, would be Hong Leong Finance 3.28% for 8 months or ocbc 3.5% for 6 months or this new GE plan, 3.5% for 1y. Still deciding which one.

Any FD that is 6 months tenure, why not try your luck with 6 months T-bill first? They are almost equivalent as in capital guaranteed in a sense. If try T-bill fail then can consider the bank FD?

Sounds good outright
Tbills->FD->endowment

Tbill need to bid if you bid too high may not get and it is usually 6 months or 1 year. So in theory that order of priority is correct but what if you want 3 month, 9 month tenure period? That is when FD come in.
