I wun bother le, he nvr/cant get the best of the deal is not my problem le. One can only do so much. He want go ask amazon USA for free shipping to SG also can, via livechat.

Those who know how to shop in amazon USA and SG will get the good deals.
Very long never use the livechat already... Now the livechat service still top notch?

Last time can get the rep to help with alot of things haha... Think the last time I used livechat was before amazon sg started

It does.

Do you know how those ezship /comgateway etc work?

They provide you a local US shipping address so that you can "buy locally". After that those logistics company will consolidate and ship out.

So effectively his 2nd paragraph helps to address the 1st paragraph whereby a person doesn't have a usa address. (because shipping direct for Large items will cost a bomb due to volumetric weight)
U think everybody so knowledgable like u all about how to get a US address to save on shipping? And some ppl just dun see the point to go thru all that trouble esp if they just wanna buy 1 or 2 items or wat they wanna buy is just a small or low cost item... isn't it? Anyway... if u and shadow84 believe that u are right... then there will be nobody in sg who would buy stuff on Amazon US w/o a US address lor... :s22:

I don't understand why are you being aggressive and agitated when people are trying to share information and educate you?

I did explain how they work.

And FYI, if u wanted to buy things from amazon US, there are 2 ways to shop. These 2 ways will lead to 2 different results.

1) if u are buying from amazon USA via Amazon sg.. Then the shipping fees are quoted by amazon
2) if are buying from amazon USA directly from amazon USA (which shadow84 and I have been mentioning on), u will need the 3rd party company to help ship.

*note items and prices available between way #1 and #2 are different.

I shipped a desk elliptical before, I think over 15kg and in a gigantic box. Free shipping from Amazon US back in the day. :)

Same here, though mine was before the FSSG. You can't beat cast iron for searing scallops and codfish.

I just bought a pair of Mounting Dream speaker stands for US$57 (after discounts) but shipping to SG cost another US$34 so total less than US$100 (inclusive of GST). Is it worth it?

Yes, cos if buy from Amazon SG is about SGD$200.

If you know how to do the calculations, it is cheaper to buy from Amazon US even after the currency conversion and shipping fees.

another useful tip pertaining having US and SG addresses:

add in both SG and a US address on your Amazon US account, you can get one from EZbuy or VPost (not going to elaborate on that)

Whenever you want to buy/search something on Amazon US, always switch between the 2 addresses cos you'll be seeing different things Amazon going to recommend you and most of the time the US address version is a lot cheaper cos those are usually sold by US merchants who are shipping domestically only and not to overseas. You can then compare the prices between the 2 versions (US and SG) and see whether using a forwarder like EZbuy/VPost is more economical than Amazon US shipping to Singapore directly.
