Thanks for the reply...

The HOST interface on the GPON Stick...I setup as static and clone the MAC address of the original issued ONR...
Would you be able to PM your configuration, please? Thank you so much for your help
You don’t need to change anything at the host interface of the stick. It’s only used to communicate with the stick system itself, nothing to do with internet (once status 5 then already in bridged mode).

Thank uyou @geylynd , connected via GPON. However GPON Stick up-stream speed limited to 1.25Gbps only. Any GPON module that can get full 2.5Gbps for up-stream? Anyone have try with XPON 10Gbps module?

As answered by kappak, GPON technology will limit the upload speed to 2.488Gbps download and 1.244Gbps upload.

As for using XGS-PON 10G module, no reports in this forum as it is still expensive. And you need to subscribe to 10Gbps plan as well.

If you subscribe to SingTel 2Gbps plan or WC 2.5Gbps or SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan, they anyway use GPON technology and I believe you can not break the 2.488Gbps download/1.244Gbps upload speed barrier. So no point to get the XGS-PON module or ONU.

Thanks.. I tempted to try XGPON7221 to maximize the 2.5Gbps speed upload. I hope it will work...

I am pretty sure it will not break the 1.25Gbps upload speed limit. But you are welcome to try it and let us know the results.

Quite some people are interested to get XGS-PON module to work with SingTel 10Gbps plan. If you can get it working with SingTel 2Gbps plan or WC 2.5Gbps plan or SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan, that is a good data point for them.

No need to try. gpon and xgpon/xgspon wavelength are different.

Ah, that is a good point.

Maybe it becomes a good excuse to subscribe to 10Gbps plan now with the XGS-PON module...

Edit: hmm, I think XG-PON is also not compatible with XGS-PON, so it will not work for the 10G Fibre Broadband plans...

Edit again: luckily it supports dual wavelength and should be able to be configured to work with GPON based system.

Anyone has setup ZTE ONR with Asus AX86U before? How do you deal with Singtel TV box?
please do share some ideas.

I'm not sure if Singtel allows me to use back the old Nokia ONR though.
I am using powerline which is quite a simple solution. Connect 1 port of your ONR to powerline and then connect to your tv box

I'm not able to setup my RT-AX86U with the ZTE ONR. I have Singtel TV as well. When the Singtel guy came down to setup for me, he told me that I might not be able to replace Singtel Mesh Router with Asus AX86, cos the Singtel TV box need to connect to Singtel Mesh Router for it to work.

I haven't tried the Port Forwarding yet. I saw the settings inside ZTE ONR but seems like I need to input:
1) WAN Host IP Address
2) WAN Port

My previous setup in Nokia ONR or Huawei ONR looks straight forward.

Any ideas where do you guys upload images to? Seems like in HWZ need to upload images to a site in order to create a link to attached into here.

You can reference my portforwarding here can pm me if you need help also!

Hi Guys,

I am using SIngtel ONT.
Today I heard my asus rt-ac88u recently has weird constant buzzing sound. Tried restarting the router but the buzzing sound still there. Since my router is going to reach 8 years old, I think its going to end of life.

Would wonder which Asus router to go since I think only Asus router has support for singtel miotv?
I tried to find AX88U but its not available anywhere locally.
What would be the next the next best router on par with my current one?

Thanks.

GT-AX6000 is a good replacement. You can get BNIB unit from Carousell at about S$450. If you want to go with lower cost ones, then TUF-AX6000 is a cheaper alternative. TUF-AX4200 is even cheaper but it has only one 2.5G port so not that future proof.

BTW, local version routers from TP-Link, Netgear and Asus all support SingTel TV box for SingTel ONT users. Linksys E series router works as well. Take note Linksys Velop/Atlas series routers do not support SingTel VLAN so they will not work for SingTel ONT users.

Using Wireless? What is the router used? Is the client too far away from the router?

You may have to post the floor plan with details of the location of the ONT/ONR, LAN ports in the rooms and the two mesh nodes. Solid walls can attentuate the wifi signal badly. Placement is also important.

Anyway, all the Askey/Airties/Acadyan mesh solutions from Singtel are lousy. So you may want to upgrade to better mesh solution.
