How is the process to move to a new provider? Thinking of moving to StarHub 10G plan... Do I need to cancel my current provider first?

No. You want to have the new service up and running first, then cancel the existing provider.

Typical household has a FTP with two ports -- allowing two services to run at the same time.

Hi, how about MR's 10Gb router vs SH's ? :)

Starhub monthly charge is higher (S$69.95 per month, with free TP-Link EB810v) with bundled contents.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/broadband.html

MR monthly charge (S$59.99 per month with free TP-Link Archer BE805, gamer plan is at S$64.99 per month with free TP-Link Archer BE805) is lower but without bundled contents. The bundled router Archer BE805 is slightly worse than Starhub's EB810v in terms of HW (no 2.5G ports vs 3x2.5G ports) and Wireless spec (BE19000 vs BE22000).
https://myrepublic.net/sg/10gbps/

So if you need the contents, go with Starhub. If not, go with MR. If you want good latency for gaming, MR 10Gbps gamer plan may be a good option.

Good question. The documentation of TP-Link EasyMesh is not good and even worse for Operator versions like TP-Link EB810V and HB810. Hopefully users can chime in and report about the features, including useful features like this.

I tend to think it should work.

TP-Link Deco is fine in this aspect. Guese Network is working on the satellite Deco units. Take note TP-Link Deco mesh is not compatible with TP-Link EasyMesh.

Thanks. I had read elsewhere it was not supported.

Thinking of getting the 10gbps plan (currently paying $107 on average for essentially the same thing at 1gbps and with the crappy default TV box so paying the extra $4/mth would be a logical choice), but I currently have a separate 2.4GHz ringfenced guest network for my IoT devices using AiMesh (AX86U + XD5) which I hope to be able to use in the TP-Link ecosystem...

Otherwise it would be TP-Link as the main router and the Asus routers as an access point.

The TV+ Pro box now got a new box where the power cable is not fixed to the box. Quite ok.

I have a question: Whats the use case for 10GBPS internet speeds? I have 1gbps and it seems to be more than enough already
For me... it would be downloading steam games of up to 3-4gbps, while streaming high bitrate videos on plex, torrenting and for family use. All without hiccups.

What is the model of the Nokia ONT?
Looks like the Nokia ONT can be configured as ONR as well as it has three more LAN ports.

XS-240X-A

Thanks.

Then it is an ONT only and not function as an ONR. The other 1G ports may be for ISPs to deploy 10G + 1G services (probably not useful in SG).

The Nokia Optical Network Terminal (ONT) XS-240X-A with one 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE), three GigE, and two plain old telephone service (POTS) ports is part of the industry-leading Nokia ONT product family and is compatible with the Nokia ISAM and Lightspan fiber to the FTTx product line.

It is designed for small businesses and residential customers where multiple Ethernet and voice ports are required. This ONT offers data, voice and video services to the subscriber through fiber to the home (FTTH) or fiber to the premises (FTTP) applications. The Nokia ONT terminates the 10G symmetrical Passive Optical Network (XGS-PON) fiber interface that is compliant with a Full Service Access Network (FSAN).

My m1 2Gps is using 2 x 1gps from the 2 ports. Like that how 🤔? I also considering using starhub 10 GPS after my m1 contract ended
