Thanks. I'm using S23 Ultra as well as AX210 on my desktop and laptop. My router seems to have MLO support but no use for me right now - enabling it I get lousy speeds haha
If you use fast roaming feature then don't enable MLO because MLO don't support fast roaming for most of the wifi.

Hi guys - I'm thinking of going ahead with the 10Gbps plan when I'm renovating my house now.

Can I ask - is it possible to connect a TP Link or Ubiquiti wifi 7 access point directly to the starhub EB810V router?
That means the starhub router > EB810V > connects out via 2.5Gbps port to 2 Wireless APs (connected via a POE injector) situated in the middle of the house. Is it this possible? Or do I need like a separate set up involving a POE switch etc?

Thanks in advance.

3 options you can do

1) Use a switch with PoE ports and run LAN cables directly from it to your EAPs
2) Run 2 LAN cables from the router's 2x2.5G ports direct to your EAPs and use the provided AC adapters that come with the EAPs to power them
3) Use PoE injectors but you still need to run 2 LAN cables from the router's 2x2.5G ports to the injectors. From the injector run a LAN cable to each EAP

Look at the situation and decide which option is best for you

Seems like EB810V is missing some features compared to the BE series

- No "smart connect" feature for 2.4/5/6. Instead there is only "band steering" for 2.4 and 5ghz

- No "speed test" functionality built in so cannot test internet speed. Saw the Singtel version has this function. They should just include it to preempt customer queries lol.

Surprisingly it seems the router has VLAN for IPTV setup on port 1091 but seems like it's no longer used since the tv box can now receive FTA without VLAN

no smart connect is better right? i read review about tplink routers, needs to use guest network to separate 2.4 and 5g bands. asus ones can do it easier to avoid smart connect crap.

2.4 standalone is better for homes with old iot devices like cam :o

Interesting that you mention that Singtel HB810 has SpeedTest function, where do you see the info? Thanks. I was under the impression that EB810v and HB810 are too customized so that they may lose quite some features of the normal Archer WiFi 7 routers like Archer BE800.

What about TP-Link Archer BE805 for MR users? -- hopefully MR BE805 users can chime in and reply.

As for VLAN 1091, it may still be useful for those who use Starhub TV+ Box -- probably more priority than if you do not use VLAN 1091. Not so sure about this.

Hmm. by right you do not need the password for the Starhub issued Nokia XGS-PON ONT. Your own router will be the main router if you connect it to the Starhub ONT (not using Starhub issued EB810v). You can use your own router to its full ability.

@trenzterra
Is this password the password for the router (EB810v)? If it is indeed the password for the Nokia XGS-PON ONT, how do you log into it?

Thank you very much! Thats v helpful.

If i choose option 1, does that mean the 10GBPS LAN port from my EB810V router will run to the POE switch? Or is it the 10GBPS WAN Port or 2.5GBPS LAN port?

And given the primary router EB810V is WIFI 7, does that mean I should add a TP Link AP like a ceiling mounted one that is capable of Wifi 7 also, and this additional AP point would act as part of a network?

Smart Connect is not all roses

Speedtest can be done at the following

It's the password to the router. I recall someone saying he didn't get the password then StarHub also don't know then need to call hub trooper down

For the ONT, I saw there is a password shown on the table the hub trooper was using. I took a photo of the password lol but haven't tried to login yet cos there's no need to. He told me last time during ONR days people keep asking him for super admin password altho he say by right not allowed to give hahaha

The 10G WAN port connects to your ONT(aka modem). It is an incoming port. The 10G LAN port is the outgoing port to the switch/PC/laptop/dock

Depending whether your AP is a 2.5G or 10G. If 2.5G then can connect directlty to the eb810v's 2.5G ports.

If the APs are 10G with WiFi 7 like the TP-LINK EAP780 or EAP783 then you'll need a 10G switch with PoE if you want to use the PoE feature. Note that the aforementioned APs need at least 39W to power them so the PoE switch per port needs to output at least that amount of power. The TP-LINK 10G PoE switch TL-SX3206HPP can output 60W per port

https://www.tp-link.com/us/business-networking/omada-switch-poe/tl-sx3206hpp/v1/

Whether to use APs or another unit of eb810v router will depend on you. Check your WiFi performance around the house using the eb810v's WiFi then decide.
