My wisdom tooth has caused me discomfort for very long. It's kind of causing gum swelling now and then and has formed a pit where food get stuck.

I visited a dentist and he said the removal of the wisdom tooth for this case has greater risk cos it sits near a nerve.

He suggested not to proceed.

Is this make sense

I’m suffering some bone loss at the back of my jaw where my wisdom tooth was used to be. But now I might lose the 3rd molar due to bone loss causing it to be a little shakey. There’s a deep pocket now and have occasional pus. No way to salvage it?

You have pretty serious periodontitis, likely need to do surgery by Periodontal specialist. Alternatively, please visit a dentist who has dental laser, laser is better to treat if conditions still can be salvaged. Find a dental with laser pls, less invasive. PM me if you need recommendation

It depends if your wisdom tooth will be giving you problems next time. Few things to consider :

1. Pain
2. Food trap
3. Gum infection
4. Cavity

I have a thinning teeth where my front top and bottom becoming more and more translucent over the years. I am afraid it might break one day.
