hi @Venusys

My molar have had 2 root canal done (1 initial RCT 18 years ago, and i redid a root canal 5 years ago as the initial job wasn't done properly). recently I've been feeling some pressure beneath the crown, and it does hurt when i knock onto the base of the crown. My gums were also initially swollen but have since subsided.

Do you happen to know what's going on, and what's your suggestion? do i proceed for another RCT? or perhaps just going for the implant route.

thanks in advance

Sure, it is almost standard to have tooth removed for braces work.

If the issue is there, then shouldn't need to think too long to decide.

If you are still second guessing, I will encourage you to visit a reputable dentist for second opinion and consultation which is probably what I would do.

PM me if you need recommendation ☺️
Can recommend a good crowning clinic?
Thanks.

Apologies for late response.
Yes, pressure beneath the crown is not a good sign. Gum swollen may indicate infections.

Don't go for implant route without trying to rescue the tooth via retreatment first. The Endodontists need to do a CT scan to visualise the condition of your root canal. Chances is a retreatment is good enough. This is my suggestion.

Please go to The Endodontic Office and look for Dr. Heng Pei Fang or Dr. Stella to have a check and hear what they would say.

Lastly, tell them its referred by Venusys. Thanks
