Anyone heard of mewing

https://g.co/kgs/YAJBtnC

And heard of adult tongue tie release? It's frequently done for young kids having difficulty breastfeeding
Is Mewing for better sleep?

Adult tongue tie is not uncommon. Again, please go to a laser dentist who can perform the surgery for you. The surgery will be less invasive n better healing, less bleeding and better outcome.

PM me if you need recommendation

I'm quite busy so I'm only able to go for my braces appointment every 4-5 months. Is there any negative side effects for my teeth?

Technically shouldn't have much side effects but you should be mindful of

1. It will take longer for your teeth to move as planned

2. Plaque build up if you are not cleaning your teeth well, worst case leads to gum desease.

Hi Venusys,

I have an gum abscess situation at my lower left back molar recently. I have visited dentist for 1st round and had given 2 type of antibiotic and painkiller was prescribed.

1) Finished my prescription, face no longer swelling , pain fully subside. But gum abscess is still there

2) Visited the dentist again to do x-ray and deep cleansing of teeth. Doctor mentioned x-ray seems nothing wrong for my root canal done many years (>5 years). Doctor just mentioned to use salt water to gargle and abscess situation should improve although he did also mentioned x-ray is 2-D and might missed out some details.

My concern is from start till end is about 2 months for the situation, I aint feeling any throbbing pain at the back of my lower left molar and all seems good except that my gum abscess is still there-just that the abscess has become smaller.

-Want to seek your recommendation on this on what should I do? Live with the gum abscess? Continue to gargle with water? Can i recover? Generally how long doe it takes?

Thank you.

Hi @Venusys,

Do you have recommended dentist for brace for child? Preferably in Punggol or near this area, with reasonable pricing. Would appreciate.

Thank you.

Hi learntoforgive, thank you for the question. I cannot directly address the condition of the tooth and gum situation unless CT scan is used. X-ray cannot really see much details for your case. This is what I would do for a piece of mind.

1. Visit a dentist who own a CT-scan equipment
2. For the abcess situation, I have concern that your current dentist will not be able to do much even with deep cleaning done. Abcess is located deep in tissue, you need to open a small hole to drain it out. Therefore, I need a dentist who has CT-Scan and a laser machine to do incision and disinfection.
3. I believe you are facing a situation that could be reoccurring . The underlying issue would likely be rootcanal issue. Your current treatment is temporary relief in my opinion, not really targeting the root cause. You need to do a rootcanal retreatment sooner or later. Again, to have a piece of mind, I would go to see an endo specialist that have CT scan, laser and will advise when retreatment is needed.

PM me and I will recommend.
Hope it helps.

Is it something your child needs or you want for your child so he/she look presentable for the teeth?

Or is it affecting his or her biting, speech or sleep?

I think you need to be mindful that braces could have effect on the jaw of your child in the future. One could end up with having Jaw stress or TMJ pain for the rest of his/her life.

For child, there are alternatives to braces that could yield result but gentler. They are call aligner for children. I will recommend pediatric dentist or dentist specialise with children to help with your case. Unfortunately, they may not that cheap if cost is your concerns.

All the best for your child.

Thank you for your feedback.

It is necessary as suggested previously by a dentist more than a cosmetic want. Based on previous x-ray, my daughter's molars are cramped too much, and initial suggestions of dentist that time was to remove a couple of cramped tooth (one each side) and put brace so that there will be space for remaining teeth to align properly.

Sure, it is almost standard to have tooth removed for braces work.

If the issue is there, then shouldn't need to think too long to decide.

If you are still second guessing, I will encourage you to visit a reputable dentist for second opinion and consultation which is probably what I would do.

PM me if you need recommendation ☺️
